Drive into the French Quarter and expect to hand your keys to a valet. On September 19, 2026 we read the parking pages of downtown and Quarter hotels on their own sites or their chains'. Overnight valet ran $49 at the low end and $62.28 at the high end, and most hotels charged $57 or less. A few hotels outside the Quarter charge a fraction of that. Some Quarter hotels also bill a daily destination fee, which you pay whether or not you bring a car, so we count it when we compare them. Sections run roughly cheapest first on parking, and a hotel that publishes no rate is named as such rather than guessed at.
The Chloe: free street parking and no lot
On St. Charles Avenue in Uptown, The Chloe says in its FAQ that on-street parking is free for all guests. It has no lot and publishes no overnight rate.
Hotel Peter and Paul: a $15 lot in the Marigny
Among the Marigny and Bywater hotels, Hotel Peter and Paul is the cheapest place on this page with a lot of its own, at $15 plus taxes a night. The hotel asks guests not to rely on the street, and there is no valet. A few blocks over, The Frenchmen has no parking of its own at all and tells guests to leave the car at home, which on this block is the honest advice. Every night also carries a $20 amenity fee, whether you drive or not, and the page doesn't say if tax applies to it. Added up, that is $35 a night before tax, $14 under the cheapest French Quarter valet we found when you compare both before tax.
Parking yourself: $20 on St. Charles, $45 or $50 downtown
Self-parking at the Hampton Inn & Suites St. Charles Ave./Garden District costs $20 a day, and there is no valet. Carnival changes the price. During Mardi Gras the same space is $50 a night, which matches valet at the Hotel Monteleone, so budget $50 for a parade weekend.
Only a handful of CBD and Warehouse District hotels let you park your own car. The Higgins Hotel has no valet and sends guests to the WWII Museum garage at $45 a day. At Embassy Suites Convention Center, self-park and valet both cost $50 a day, and an oversized vehicle costs $53 plus tax. Hilton New Orleans Riverside has covered self-parking with in and out privileges for $50 a day, $8 less than its own valet.
Quarter valet at $49 and $50
$49 a night plus tax buys the cheapest Quarter valet we found, at the Astor Crowne Plaza on Canal and Bourbon. Self-park isn't offered, and an oversized vehicle is $59 plus tax. The page shows no resort fee.
Most of the French Quarter hotels we checked charge a dollar more. Hotel Monteleone charges $50 a night plus tax to valet any vehicle, and it says plainly that it has no resort fee. Chateau LeMoyne on Dauphine Street lists valet at $50 a day plus tax and publishes no self-park rate. A little way along Dauphine, Dauphine Orleans charges $50 per car per night for its secured valet, and its self-park situation is unclear. The Barnett has no lot of its own and charges $50 plus tax for valet.
$52 to $55, plus destination fees
The Saint Hotel, at the Canal edge of the Quarter, charges $52 a night plus tax and says it has no discretionary resort fee. Le Méridien is also $52 a day, with no self-park, and Marriott's booking screen adds a $25 destination fee. Hotel Tonnelle is $53 a day. The Renaissance Arts Warehouse District lists the same $53 for valet, then says a destination fee applies without giving the amount. Marriott's booking screen shows it as $20.
The JW Marriott on Canal lists $55 a day, and Le Pavillon charges $55 for an overnight with a 13% parking tax on top. Uptown, The Pontchartrain Hotel is valet only at $55 plus tax a night. A Garden District or Uptown address gets you the Hampton Inn's $20 lot at one hotel and downtown valet prices at the next.
Canal and CBD valets at $56 and up
$56 plus tax overnight at The Windsor Court includes unlimited in and out. The Roosevelt is $57 a night, or $64 plus tax for an oversized vehicle. Hilton Riverside's valet costs $58 a day. The Ritz-Carlton charges $62 a night for valet. The highest figure we found belongs to the New Orleans Marriott at the foot of Canal: $62.28 a day with tax included, on a $55 base rate. Valet is the only option there.
Destination fees put eight hotels at $75 or more
A destination fee is billed every day of your stay whether or not you drive, so for a guest with a car it belongs in the parking math. At Bourbon Orleans, valet is $50 a day and the destination fee is $25 a day, plus tax on both, which comes to $75 before tax. Hotel de la Poste on Chartres Street charges $55 a day for valet and a $30 a day destination fee. The Eliza Jane charges a $60 a night valet and a $35 a day destination amenity fee, each plus tax, or $95 a night before tax. Five more show their fee only once a booking screen prices a room. Hilton Riverside adds $30 a night plus tax to its $58 valet, which makes $88. On Marriott's screen, Le Méridien comes to $77 ($52 valet and a $25 fee), and the JW Marriott and the New Orleans Marriott to $85 ($55 and $30). The Ritz-Carlton costs a driver the most of any hotel on this page: $62 valet and a $40 destination fee, or $102 a night.
Other hotels bill the fee without a valet rate we could confirm. Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street charges $25 a day plus taxes. At NOPSI the destination charge is $35 a night, and Loews charges $30 a night plus tax. Ask any of them for the overnight valet price, then add the fee to it.
Hotels with no published figure
Omni Royal Orleans has a parking page with no price on it. Soniat House publishes no parking figure at all. The two Hyatts, Regency and Centric French Quarter, would not show us their parking details, and neither would St. Charles Coach House, so they are left out of the order above. Call the front desk before you drive in and ask for the overnight rate with tax included, since several hotels on this page quote theirs without it.
