Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Ritz-Carlton occupies the 1908 Maison Blanche building at 921 Canal Street, which leaves a couple of blocks between your room and Bourbon Street. That distance is what guests keep coming back to. They walk into the Quarter in minutes and then sleep somewhere the noise doesn't reach. The Club Level, served by the Maison Orleans lounge, is the other thing they talk about. Food and drinks go out through the day. Guests describe it as a hotel inside the hotel and say the upgrade earned its price, which is worth knowing before you book a standard room and wonder what everyone else is talking about. The room and maintenance complaints that run through other Quarter hotels did not recur here. What guests do object to is the daily valet. The hotel's page carries no resort or destination fee, but Marriott's booking screen shows a $40 destination fee inside the nightly rate. Valet is the only parking the hotel prices, at $62 a night. An oversized vehicle is $75 plus tax and an EV space is $77.

Bourbon Street runs off Canal a short walk toward the river, so the Quarter's noise is a walk away rather than under the window. Louis Armstrong International is about 14 miles out, per the hotel.

Does The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans charge a resort fee?
Yes, a $40 destination fee each night. Marriott's booking screen shows it included in the nightly rate. The hotel's own page prices parking and pets but carries no destination fee line.
How much is parking at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans?
$62 a night for valet. An oversized vehicle is $75 a night plus tax and an EV space is $77. No self-park rate appears anywhere on the hotel's page, so budget for valet if you're driving.
How far is the hotel from Bourbon Street?
A short walk. The hotel is at 921 Canal Street on the French Quarter side of Canal, and Bourbon Street runs off Canal toward the river. Guests book here partly to be far enough from that noise to sleep.
Is the Club Level worth paying for?
Guests who bought it say yes. The Maison Orleans lounge puts out food and drinks through the day, and access goes with Club-level rooms and suites only, so a standard booking doesn't get you in.
What time can I get into my room, and when does Club Level access start?
4pm, and check-out is noon. Club access comes with the room type rather than a time of day, so if you're arriving early and counting on the lounge, ask the desk what it's serving.
Is there a weight limit for dogs at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans?
Thirty pounds, one pet per room. The fee is $300 non-refundable for the stay, and the hotel asks that the pet stay leashed.
