Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Saint dresses the old Audubon Building on Canal Street in heaven and hell, and guests who like the joke point it out in the lobby and again at the Burgundy Bar. Location is the one thing nearly everyone agrees on, with Bourbon Street a short walk from the door. A valet went back into a parked car for shoes a guest had left behind, and a front-desk agent handed over a new room and drink vouchers for a mix-up she didn't cause. Rooms run quieter than the address suggests, even on upper floors during Mardi Gras. Under the styling, guests keep finding blackened grout and rusted bathroom fixtures, plus housekeeping that leaves hair on the bedding or never swaps the towels. Air conditioning quits outright in some rooms. Someone out in the Quarter all day won't spend long looking at the grout. Valet is $52 a night plus tax, and the hotel's FAQ never says whether self-parking exists. No resort fee appears there either, just a New Orleans Convention and Tourism Fee of $1 per room, per night. Check your card after checkout, because overcharges and slow deposit refunds recur. A few guests have also reported bed bugs, in 2024, in 2025 and after a July 2026 stay. Those reports are rare next to everything else guests write, and each time the hotel replied that its inspection found nothing.
