Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Staff do most of the work at The Windsor Court, and they are what guests talk about first. Reviews name the valets, the bellmen, the front desk and the concierge, and returning guests say someone remembered their preferences from the stay before. Turndown leaves a treat in the room. The rooms themselves are big and many guests end up in a suite with a separate living room. Beds get particular praise. Decor divides people. It's done like an English country house, and some guests in 2025 and 2026 call it dated and bring up the carpet in the rooms and elevators, even though all 316 rooms and suites were part of a $15 million renovation that finished in 2018. Others chose the hotel for that look. Anyone after modern design should keep looking. On the top four floors, the Club Level lounge serves breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails and a late round of cordials, and guests who paid for it say it earned the money. You're a block from the French Quarter, and it's quiet once you're back inside. The hotel publishes no resort fee. Parking is valet only, $56 plus tax a night with unlimited in and out, and guests call it expensive while praising how fast the car comes up. The rooftop saltwater pool is something few New Orleans hotels have, though seating runs short on busy days and guests say to go down early.

The Windsor Court FAQ

Does The Windsor Court charge a resort fee?

None is published. The hotel's FAQ lists its parking and pet charges and says nothing about a resort or destination fee. Expect a $100-a-night hold for incidentals at check-in, which is a hold on your card rather than a fee.

How much is parking at The Windsor Court?

$56 plus tax a night, valet only, with unlimited in and out. Guests say the car comes up quickly even when they ask for it several times in a day. The garage can't take oversized vehicles or RVs, and some guests park on the street or in another garage to skip the charge.

Can you walk to the French Quarter from The Windsor Court?

Yes. The hotel says it's one block away, and guests describe the Quarter and the river as a few blocks' walk. What they like is coming back to a quiet building at night.

Is the Club Level worth paying for?

Guests who used it say yes. The lounge on the top four floors serves breakfast from 6:30am, afternoon tea at 1:30pm, cocktails with hors d'oeuvres from 5pm and cordials with dessert until 9pm, and only Club Level rooms get in.

Does The Windsor Court have a pool?

Yes, a rooftop saltwater pool, open to registered guests from 6am to 10pm. A pool bar opens seasonally at 11am. Seating runs short on busy days, so go down early.

Are the rooms at The Windsor Court dated?

Some guests think so. The decor is traditional and English, and reviews from 2025 and 2026 bring up the carpet in rooms and elevators, even though every room was part of a $15 million renovation finished in 2018. Plenty of guests book for the old-fashioned look, so it comes down to taste.
