Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
1,193 rooms, next door to the Caesars Superdome, and most people book the Hyatt Regency for that address. Guests single out the staff, especially at the front desk and the valet stand, describing employees who go out of their way for them. Rooms come across as clean but dated. Worn carpet and tired wallpaper keep turning up in guest accounts from 2024 into 2026, and no renovation has surfaced since. Guests also describe a mandatory destination fee with incidental charges stacked on the room rate, and some say it leaves them feeling nickel-and-dimed. Hyatt's own site blocked our checks, so we could not confirm the current fee or the parking rate; ask for the all-in nightly total and the valet price before you book. If an updated room or a rate with nothing added on top matters to you, the decor and the fees will grate. The French Quarter is about 20 minutes away on foot. On a Saints game or concert night, you leave the lobby and reach the stadium in a few minutes without touching event parking.

Does the Hyatt Regency New Orleans charge a destination fee?
Guests say yes. They describe a mandatory nightly fee plus incidental charges. We could not confirm the current amount on Hyatt's own site, so ask for the all-in nightly total when you book.
How much is parking at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans?
We could not confirm it. Hyatt's parking page blocked our checks, so there is no verified rate here. Ask the hotel for the current valet price, and whether in-and-out access is included, before you drive in.
How close is the hotel to the Superdome?
Next door. Hyatt places the hotel beside the Caesars Superdome and the Smoothie King Center, so on game or concert nights you walk over instead of dealing with event parking.
Can I walk to the French Quarter from the Hyatt Regency?
Yes. It is under a mile, about 20 minutes on foot. The Loyola Avenue streetcar also runs from near the hotel to Canal Street, the edge of the Quarter.
Are the rooms updated?
Not by guest accounts. Rooms are described as clean, but worn carpet and dated wallpaper come up repeatedly from 2024 into 2026, with no renovation reported.
