Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Le Méridien is in the middle of a renovation announced for July 2026 through the end of 2027, and the elevators are flagged for work through the end of 2026. Some recent guests report elevator outages during multi-night stays, which lines up with that schedule. What keeps people booking is the Poydras Street address: guests find the Quarter an easy walk and like being well clear of Bourbon Street noise at night. Housekeeping was thorough one night and missed the next for several guests, with a few reports of torn or unchanged linens and some complaints about loud AC units. Parking means valet, $52 a day, or $57 plus tax for a truck or oversized vehicle; there is no self-parking. Billing draws the sharpest words. Guests describe bar holds far larger than the tab and charges that showed up twice, and some couldn't tell what a daily charge on the bill was for. Marriott's booking screen shows a $25 destination fee inside the nightly rate, though the hotel's own page doesn't list one. A traveler who wants a full-service Marriott near the Quarter and can put up with elevator waits will do fine here, while anyone who needs an undisturbed stay should wait for the work to finish. Whoever books, ask at the desk about daily charges and read the folio before heading to the airport.
