Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
This Renaissance sells itself on its lobby, where glass chandeliers hang over a gallery wall of work by a local artist, and guests bring up that boutique look more than anything else about the stay. Upstairs the rooms are older than the lobby suggests. Reviews keep describing the same wear, mainly cabinet doors that don't close right and chipped wood. Once the humidity sets in, guests say the air conditioning can't get a room below the mid-70s, which matters more on a July or August trip than any painting downstairs. If you sleep badly in a warm room, look elsewhere for a summer stay. Guests like the front desk, though service varies by visit, and individual stays report missed housekeeping and slow room service. What guests do value is being able to walk to Warehouse District restaurants and the riverfront, so a car mostly sits parked here. Parking it costs $53 a day for valet on the hotel's own page, and no self-park rate is published. The hotel also charges a destination fee and leaves the amount off the same page, but Marriott's booking screen shows $20 a night, already included in the rates it lists.

Does the Renaissance Arts Warehouse District charge a resort fee?
Yes, it charges a destination fee. Marriott's booking screen shows $20 a night, included in the rate it displays, though the hotel's own page doesn't state the amount.
How much is parking at the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel?
Valet is $53 a day, per the hotel's own page. It publishes no self-parking rate, so plan on valet or a nearby public garage.
Is the Renaissance Arts Hotel walkable to the French Quarter?
Yes. Canal Street and the edge of the Quarter are a few blocks away along Tchoupitoulas, and the riverfront is closer still.
Do the rooms stay cool in summer?
Not reliably. Guests repeatedly say the air conditioning struggles to get rooms below the mid-70s in humid summer weather, so ask about it at check-in if heat bothers you.
Have the rooms been renovated recently?
Not that we could find. Guests describe worn furnishings, including cabinet doors that don't close right and chipped wood, which reads as a property due for a refresh.
