Celebration Bowl 2026 Hotels for Band of the Year Night and the Noon Kickoff

On 29 October, 14 of the 17 downtown hotels we read sold Saturday 12 December, the day of the Celebration Bowl, as a single night. Three didn't. Embassy Suites sold that Saturday only inside a Friday 11 to Sunday 13 stay, with 16 rooms found for the two nights. Signia sold Friday, with 36 rooms found, and had no Saturday at all, alone or inside the two-night stay. The Hilton Garden Inn sold neither night, though it sold the Wednesday before, 9 December, with 8 rooms found.

We read each night separately on the hotel's booking screen, for two adults in one room. A single Saturday night means checking in Saturday 12 December and out Sunday 13. Where Saturday alone was refused but Friday sold, we tried Friday 11 to Sunday 13 as one stay, so the Hilton Garden Inn never got that test. Every refusal read "Sorry, we don't have any rooms available for those dates." It names no minimum stay, so we can't tell whether Embassy Suites has a two-night rule or is just down to what's left. Availability changes daily, and these reads are from 29 October.

None of the 17 showed a resort or destination fee on its booking screen when we read it for our hotel pages. Every room in Georgia carries the state's $5 a night hotel-motel fee, and Atlanta rooms add 8% hotel tax and 8.9% sales tax on top. No parking figure below says whether tax is extra.

Five hotels within 10 minutes of the stadium

Walks are routed on foot on a normal day, from each hotel to the nearer of two points on the perimeter of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. They are not walks to a gate, and they know nothing about game-day closures or gate assignments. Ten of the hotels sit in the Centennial Park area and seven in Peachtree Center.

Hotel Phoenix and Reverb by Hard Rock Atlanta Downtown are the closest in the guide, 2 minutes from the stadium's east side at 172 and 182 meters. Both sold Friday and Saturday. No page we could read gives Hotel Phoenix's parking rate. Reverb's garage entrance is at 38 Mangum St SW, and the hotel doesn't publish a price either. Ask before you drive in.

Signia is 7 minutes out and sold only Friday. Its valet is $65 with in-and-out, and there's no self-parking. The hotel says the price varies on event days.

The organizer's team hotel is the Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park, and Team Arrivals are there at noon on Wednesday 9 December. It's 10 minutes away and showed 14 room listings for Friday and 16 for Saturday. Valet is the only parking, $75 overnight. By day it's $35 for up to 3 hours and $45 for 3 to 6, and past 6 it's $75.

Valet at the Glenn Hotel, Autograph Collection is $60 a day, and it's included with the All Access and Romance in Atlanta packages, though blackout dates may apply. The Glenn is also 10 minutes away and sold both nights.

Nine at 13 to 18 minutes, and two wouldn't sell Saturday alone

Embassy Suites is 13 minutes out. Valet is the only parking, $60 a night, and EV charging is complimentary.

The American Hotel Atlanta Downtown, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown are at 160 and 161 Ted Turner Dr NW. The American is 15 minutes out and showed 12 rooms found for Friday and 11 for Saturday. Its only parking is valet at $60, and the hotel doesn't say whether that's a night or a day. The Hampton, 17 minutes out, showed 12 rooms each night. It has no valet, and its self-parking at $35 a day is the cheapest full day of parking among the hotels that publish a rate.

Moxy Atlanta Downtown is the only hotel we measured to the stadium's north side, on Andrew Young International Blvd, 16 minutes away. Valet is $55 a day. We found no self-parking rate.

The Hilton Garden Inn is 17 minutes out, and it had nothing for Friday or Saturday. Self-parking is $45 a day in a covered garage, in and out for overnight guests, and valet is $60.

Hyatt Place Atlanta Centennial Park parks every car by valet, $60 a day, in a covered garage with 24/7 security monitoring. It's a 17-minute walk.

At The Westin Peachtree Plaza, Atlanta, 17 minutes away too, parking is $65 a day whether you self-park or hand over the keys.

Residence Inn Atlanta Downtown and Courtyard Atlanta Downtown are both 18 minutes out, and each sold both nights, though the Courtyard marked one room type ALMOST SOLD OUT on each. The Residence Inn is valet only at $50 a day, the lowest full-day valet rate we found. The Courtyard lists no self-parking, and its valet costs $55 a day.

The farthest three, 21 to 25 minutes, all sold both nights

From SpringHill Suites Atlanta Downtown it's a 21-minute walk. Parking is valet, $55 a day, and the hotel lists no self-parking rate.

Valet at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta is $60 overnight, or $65 for an oversized vehicle, with in-and-out privileges. There's no official self-parking. It's 23 minutes away.

Hilton Atlanta has the longest walk of the 17, at 25 minutes. Friday showed 21 rooms found and Saturday 15. Self-parking is $45 in a covered third-party garage, and spaces are limited and not guaranteed. The garage takes cards only and has a 6 ft height limit, so anything taller goes to the valet, at $60 a night.

Seven more downtown hotels in our records sit 19 to 23 minutes from the stadium. We didn't read them for these nights.

Friday night: Band of the Year at 7 p.m.

Red Lobster Band of the Year is Friday 11 December at 7 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, on the organizer's schedule and on the stadium's calendar. The event's site says six bands will be chosen and posts no band names and no doors time. Friday was the easy night: 16 of the 17 hotels sold it alone, everything except the Hilton Garden Inn.

With a 7 p.m. start, the walk back is at night, and we found no end time to plan around. All five hotels within 10 minutes sold Friday alone, Signia included, and so did Embassy Suites at 13 minutes, with 17 rooms found.

Sleeping only Friday means checking out before a noon kickoff. Of the 16 that sold Friday, 11 check out at 11 a.m. Hyatt Place gives you until noon. So do the Glenn and the Moxy. We found no time for Hotel Phoenix or Reverb.

The SWAC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is at the Omni at the same hour. The organizer says not every event around the game is open to the public. The GWCC calendar has the Coca-Cola Fan Experience in Building A on 11 and 12 December, though the organizer lists it only on Saturday morning. The center also lists NeurIPS in Building C from 9 to 12 December. That is the Atlanta satellite of the Neural Information Processing Systems conference, and its own site runs it to 13 December, so it covers both bowl nights. Three smaller events fill the rest of the weekend. State Farm Arena lists nothing from 11 to 13 December, and Pentatonix plays there Thursday 10.

Saturday's noon kickoff, by car or by MARTA

Kickoff is Saturday 12 December at noon, on ABC, between the MEAC champion and the SWAC champion. Neither was decided on 29 October. The organizer's history page puts last year's crowd at 26,703, down from 36,823 in 2024 and 41,108 in 2023. The Coca-Cola Fan Experience runs 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Know Before You Go, the organizer's game-day page, puts the College Band Jamboree at 9 to 9:30 a.m. and the High School Band Jamboree at 10 to 10:30. Merchant vending runs 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and again from 3 to 5. No gate opening time is published, and the stadium's events page lists the game's time as TBA.

The stadium allows clear bags up to 12 x 6 x 12 inches or a one-gallon freezer bag. A small non-clear bag up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches can come in with a clear bag. For the quickest entry, the stadium recommends bringing no bag at all. The organizer's bag page adds a small clutch and a medical-items exception at a designated gate.

Only four hotels list self-parking: the Hampton, the Hilton Garden Inn, the Westin and Hilton Atlanta. Eleven list valet and no self-parking, and Hotel Phoenix and Reverb publish no price. The stadium strongly recommends reserving and paying for parking in advance and warns that spaces may be affected by events at the Georgia World Congress Center, where the fan experience opens at 8:30 that morning. Its parking page calls pre-payment mandatory only for United and Falcons games and lists no Celebration Bowl.

The stadium names two MARTA stops: SEC District Station, its preferred one, and Vine City Station. SEC District is the station formerly called GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center, and the organizer's page still uses the old name. The stadium puts the fare at $2.50 each way and says you tap a bank card or mobile wallet at the faregate. Old Breeze cards and tickets don't work on the new system. Neither does the Breeze Mobile 2.0 app. The organizer's page carries older wording about a $2 Breeze Card, so go with the stadium and check itsmarta.com closer to the game.

We found no MARTA notice for the Celebration Bowl. For the SEC Championship on 6 December 2025, MARTA's page said it would run a shuttle train between Five Points and SEC District. Treat that as precedent only.

The organizer's hotel page and the 3 December deadline

The organizer's Official Event Hotels page says the bowl has partnered with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau on discounted rooms near the stadium. Two hotels get a Book Here button, and both list Thursday 3 December 2026 as the last day to book. The Omni Atlanta at Centennial Park lists stay dates of Tuesday 8 to Saturday 12 December, and its button opens an Omni group booking page. Hilton Atlanta lists Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 December, with a Passkey booking page. The page states group rates for both. We haven't copied them, and we didn't open either booking page, so we can't say what either rate requires.

The Hilton there is Hilton Atlanta at 255 Courtland St NE, a different hotel from the Hilton Garden Inn. Seven more hotels are listed with no dates and no link: Holiday Inn Express and Suites Atlanta Downtown, The Connally Downtown Atlanta, Reverb, Embassy Suites Centennial Park, SpringHill Suites Atlanta Downtown, Hyatt Regency Atlanta and Signia by Hilton Atlanta. The Holiday Inn Express and the Connally aren't among the 17 we read. Of the other five, Embassy Suites needed a Friday to sell Saturday and Signia had no Saturday on 29 October, so a place on that page is no promise of a Saturday room.
