Discover Atlanta names the rate spikes downtown: Falcons and Atlanta United games, Hawks games and concerts at State Farm Arena, convention-center shows and the SEC Championship. December stacks four dates into eight days at Mercedes-Benz Stadium: the SEC Championship on Saturday, December 5, the Falcons against Detroit the next day, Band of the Year on the 11th and the Celebration Bowl on the 12th. Before that, the Falcons play Kansas City there on Sunday, November 15. The Peach Bowl playoff quarterfinal is Friday, January 1, and the Falcons play New Orleans on January 3. The International Production & Processing Expo is at the Georgia World Congress Center January 26 to 28. Harry Styles plays the stadium May 21 and 22, Zach Bryan on May 29, and Dragon Con runs September 2 to 6, 2027. SEC District, the stadium's station, is on the Green line, so from Peachtree Center you ride one stop to Five Points and change. The Red or Gold line in from the airport is $2.50, and a day pass is $9.
Outside those dates, weekdays cost more than weekends. Discover Atlanta puts it down to business demand, and an STR report for one January 2023 week had Atlanta's central business district above 83% occupied on weekdays and above 92% Tuesday through Thursday. Weekends may dip slightly unless a big event is on, and Discover Atlanta says a Sunday night can be good value. Winter is usually the cheapest season, December through February outside the holidays and major events, though New Year's Eve still raises prices.
A room here carries 8% hotel tax and 8.9% sales tax. That's 16.9%, plus Georgia's $5 a night state hotel-motel fee, which Hotel Indigo's screen lists among its taxes. Of the twelve screens we read for November 17, 2026, only the Candler's carried a hotel fee: a 2.00% mandatory charge per stay, which Hilton's banner lists as a Daily Mandatory Charge for its Historical Preservation Fee. It is already inside the price shown, and taxes go on top. Parking runs from $35 a day at the Hampton Inn & Suites, which has self-parking only, to $73 at the Ritz-Carlton, valet only. Hilton Atlanta's $45 garage space is not guaranteed, and nine hotels sit at $50 to $67. None of the twelve hotel pages says whether tax is added to parking.

A car adds $35 to $73 a day, and only one booking screen showed a hotel fee. Eleven of the twelve showed none for November 17, 2026. The Candler's 2.00% mandatory charge per stay, for its Historical Preservation Fee, is already in its price, with taxes extra. Parking is $35 self-park at the Hampton Inn & Suites, $45 self-park at Hilton Atlanta, and $50 to $73 at the other ten (the Westin is $65 either way). Room tax is 16.9% on the room plus Georgia's $5 a night state fee, and none of the twelve hotel pages say whether tax is added to parking.
Eleven of the twelve: the Ritz-Carlton, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Westin Peachtree Plaza, Ellis Hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites, The American Hotel, Hotel Indigo, Hyatt Regency, Marriott Marquis and Hilton Atlanta. Only the Candler carried a fee: a 2.00% mandatory charge per stay for its Historical Preservation Fee, included in the price shown, with taxes extra. Hotel Indigo's screen also lists a $100 per night security deposit, which is a deposit rather than a fee.
No. The Red and Gold lines run from the airport to Peachtree Center station, a single trip is $2.50 and a one-day pass is $9. All twelve hotels are 1 to 10 minutes' walk from the station. For Mercedes-Benz Stadium, ride one stop to Five Points and change to the Green line for SEC District.
The Ritz-Carlton, at 1 minute (81 meters). The Candler, Residence Inn and Courtyard are 2 minutes, the Westin and Ellis 3, and the Hampton, American and Indigo 4. The Hyatt Regency is 7, the Marquis 8 and Hilton Atlanta 10. All are routed walking times to Peachtree Center station.
Three: the Hampton Inn & Suites at $35 a day, Hilton Atlanta at $45 in a third-party garage with limited spaces that aren't guaranteed, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza at $65 a day. The Hyatt Regency has no official self-parking, only designated lots off the property with no in-and-out privileges. The other eight list valet only.
