Stadium weekends outweigh the weekday business rush around the park

Downtown Atlanta runs on business travel in the week and events on the weekend. Discover Atlanta says downtown rates are higher on weekdays and may dip slightly on weekends unless a major event is on, and it calls Sunday night good value. One STR week in January 2023 had Atlanta's central business district above 83% full on weekdays and over 92% from Tuesday to Thursday. That is a single winter week. It fits the pattern anyway. A stadium weekend overrides all of it.

The nights that cost most follow Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Georgia World Congress Center. The SEC Championship is Saturday, December 5, 2026, and the Falcons host the Lions in the same stadium the next afternoon. January 2027 opens with a Peach Bowl playoff quarterfinal on Friday the 1st and the Falcons against the Saints on the 3rd. IPPE fills the convention center January 26 to 28. Harry Styles plays the stadium May 21 and 22. The city's other big weekend is Dragon Con, September 2 to 6, 2027, over Labor Day. Discover Atlanta calls December to February the cheapest stretch outside holidays and major events, and New Year's Eve still lifts prices. After the Saints game, the stadium's own list is empty until Harry Styles, but Atlanta United plays seven home matches there between February and April and hasn't published the dates. Check them before you book a February night.

Most rooms here carry 16.9% in tax (8% hotel, 8.9% sales) plus a flat $5 a night from the state, and for the night of November 17, 2026, none of the twelve booking screens added a hotel fee on top. Reverb's screen lists the $5 as a GA Hotel Fee. Omni, Signia, Embassy Suites and Hyatt Place list valet as the only parking, at $60 to $75, and four more list valet at $55 to $65. Signia's valet price changes on event days. The Hilton Garden Inn sells self-parking at $45 a day and Aloft at $32. We found no published rate for Reverb or Hotel Phoenix. MARTA is $2.50 a ride, and the SEC District station serves the stadium and convention center on the Green Line. Peachtree Center, on the Red and Gold lines, is the stop for the park side.
