Foggy Bottom-GWU is 11 to 24 minutes on foot from seven hotels, and the campus hotel points you to Rosslyn

The one date on this calendar that belongs to Georgetown is the university's commencement, May 19 to 23, 2027; it graduated 6,930 students in 2026. The rest is the city's. Washington fills on weekdays and softens at the weekend, going by two sources: a 2016 TravelPulse piece that puts the dip down to Congress and the courts being out of session, and a December 2024 CoStar headline saying weekday demand drove the city's gains that year. We found no current occupancy by day of the week, for Georgetown or the city, so we can't put a number on the dip. Lonely Planet ranks January through March cheapest, with February the best bet, but the TRB Annual Meeting (January 10 to 14, 2027) and the March for Life (January 22) both land in that lull. Momondo points to August. We found nothing tying August to the congressional recess.

The Society for Neuroscience meets at the Convention Center from November 14 to 18, 2026. The National Cherry Blossom Festival runs March 20 to April 11, 2027, and marks its 100th anniversary. Peak bloom has landed anywhere from March 15 to April 18 and the National Park Service has posted no 2027 forecast, so a flexible cancellation matters more than a date. The NFL Draft's free fan festival follows on the Mall and Pennsylvania Avenue, April 29 to May 1, 2027. July 4 has a parade route on Constitution Avenue and no published Mall program yet.

The District taxes a room 15.95% through March 30, 2027, and the Office of Tax and Revenue has published no rate after that. We've read six of the eight booking screens here, and only the Graham's itemizes a hotel fee, a $30.00 Destination Fee on a one-night stay. The Georgetown Inn and the Hoya are still unread. Where a price is published, parking is $25 a day in the Hoya's garage, $65 for valet at the Graham and Canal House, and $75 for the Ritz-Carlton's valet. Foggy Bottom-GWU station is 11 to 24 minutes on foot from seven of the eight hotels. For the Hoya, on campus, the hotel's own page names Rosslyn instead. A trip costs $2.25 to $6.75 before 9:30 PM on weekdays, and $2.25 to $2.50 at night and on weekends. Trains stop at midnight Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and at 2 AM Friday and Saturday.

Georgetown deal questions

When are Georgetown hotels cheapest?

We found only citywide answers. A 2016 TravelPulse piece puts the city's weekend dip down to Congress and the courts being out of session, and we found no current occupancy by day of the week. By month, Lonely Planet ranks January through March cheapest, with February the best bet. The TRB Annual Meeting on January 10 to 14, 2027 and the March for Life on January 22 fall inside the winter lull. Momondo points to August, and we found nothing tying that to the congressional recess.

Which Georgetown hotels charge a hotel fee?

One of the six we've read: The Graham Georgetown, with a Destination Fee of $30.00 on a one-night stay, itemized beside the occupancy tax. The Rosewood, the Ritz-Carlton, the Four Seasons, Canal House and citizenM showed no hotel fee on their booking screens. Nobody has read the Georgetown Inn's or the Hoya Hotel's screen yet, so we don't know either way.

How much does parking cost at Georgetown hotels?

$25 to $75 a day where a price is published. The Hoya's garage is $25 a day, the Graham and Canal House charge $65 for valet, and the Ritz-Carlton charges $75 a day plus tax for valet. The Four Seasons and the Rosewood offer valet but we did not find a confirmed price, and the Georgetown Inn's parking is unread. citizenM has no parking on site.

What tax applies to a Georgetown hotel room?

15.95% of the room rate, the District's sales tax on transient lodging, through March 30, 2027 per the Office of Tax and Revenue.
