Houston First's figures lump Reliant Park in with the Medical Center, and in that submarket the Rodeo month is the high point of the months we have: 72.8% occupancy at a $184 average rate in March 2025. The bottom was 48% in December 2025, with January 2026 at 54% and $138 and August 2025 at 56% and $135. Houston First credited the submarket's gains to weekday business travel in 2023, and its 2025 recap credited the city's weekend leisure demand too, so price a Saturday with nothing on at the stadium against a Tuesday.
The Rodeo runs Tuesday, March 2 to Sunday, March 21, 2027, with the barbecue contest February 25 to 27, and Houston First put the submarket near 75% occupancy during the 2024 Rodeo. We found no report of hotels selling out, but Rodeo nights are the ones to book early. The Offshore Technology Conference comes to Reliant Park May 3 to 5, 2027, and the May 2025 show took occupancy over 75% across Downtown, Uptown and the Medical Center at its peak. The remaining Texans home games with dates are Thursday, November 19, Sunday, November 29 and Sunday, December 20, plus a Week 18 home game against Tennessee whose date hasn't been set. Kinder's Texas Bowl is Thursday, December 31, so with the Texans on the 20th that makes two December nights to price separately from the rest of the month.
Houston's hotel tax is 17%: 6% state, 7% city, and 4% for the county and its sports authority. Wyndham's parking is free except on Rodeo and major stadium days. The other parking prices we found are $7 a day at the Holiday Inn Express, $9 at the Residence Inn, $10 at the Holiday Inn and $15 at the SpringHill. The Comfort Suites and the Quality Inn are the two whose booking screens we couldn't read, so their fees are unknown. Rodeo public lots were $25 in 2026, and Kirby Drive closes at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends during the Rodeo. METRORail's Red Line stops at Stadium Park/Astrodome, about 27 minutes from Downtown, every 6 minutes on weekdays and every 12 on weekends. Fannin South Park & Ride charges $25 to $50 on most special events.
December, then January and August. In the Medical Center and NRG submarket, Houston First counted 48% occupancy in December 2025, 54% in January 2026 and 56% in August 2025, against 72.8% in March 2025. Two stadium dates fall in December, a Texans game on the 20th and Kinder's Texas Bowl on the 31st, and a Week 18 Texans home game against Tennessee has no date yet.
During the Rodeo, Tuesday, March 2 to Sunday, March 21, 2027. Houston First put the submarket near 75% occupancy during the 2024 Rodeo, and the May 2025 Offshore Technology Conference took occupancy over 75% across Downtown, Uptown and the Medical Center at its peak. The 2027 show runs May 3 to 5. We found no report of hotels selling out.
17% tax, and up to $15 a day where a hotel prints its parking price. None of the eight booking screens we read showed a nightly fee. Parking is free at the Wyndham except on Rodeo and major stadium days, and it is $7 a day at the Holiday Inn Express, $9 at the Residence Inn, $10 at the Holiday Inn and $15 at the SpringHill. We couldn't confirm a parking price at the Wingate, Staybridge, Courtyard, Comfort Suites or Quality Inn, and the Comfort Suites and Quality Inn booking screens went unread.
Yes, in 7 to 20 minutes. The Wingate is 7, the Wyndham 10, the Holiday Inn 11, the Comfort Suites 12, the Quality Inn 14, the Residence Inn 15, the Holiday Inn Express 16, the SpringHill and Staybridge 18, and the Courtyard 20. All walk times are routed on streets.
Not to reach the stadium, which is a 7 to 20 minute walk from all ten. For Downtown, METRORail's Red Line stops at Stadium Park/Astrodome, about 27 minutes away, every 6 minutes on weekdays and every 12 on weekends, and a day pass is $3. Fannin South Park & Ride is $25 to $50 on most special events, with round-trip rail wristbands for everyone in the vehicle.
Reliant Park. The complex, formerly NRG Park, took back the name on August 1, 2026, and the stadium is Reliant Stadium again. Several hotels still carry the old one: the Wyndham, SpringHill and Quality Inn say NRG Park in their names, and the Comfort Suites says NRG Stadium.
