The 6abc Dunkin' Thanksgiving Day Parade runs Thursday 26 November, so your night in town is Wednesday 25 November. Every one of the 23 hotels we read near the route showed a room for that single night. Three of them sit inside the blocks last year's route and closures boxed in. If you've got a car at one of those three, our reading is that it could be stuck until Thursday afternoon.
Last year the City had the entire route closed to vehicles by 7:30 a.m. and the pre-show set for 8:30, so you'd be walking to the curb. Every hotel here is 14 minutes or less from 20th and JFK or 16th and the Parkway.
The route and every closure time on this page come from the City of Philadelphia's release of 24 November 2025, for last year's parade on Thursday 27 November 2025. The 2026 release wasn't out on 1 November. Last year's came on the Monday of parade week, and this page gets the 2026 closures when the City posts them.
We read each hotel's own booking screen on the morning of 1 November 2026 for Wednesday 25 November alone, 2 adults and 1 room, and we didn't record rates. To count, a hotel needed a booking screen we could read and a walk of 14 minutes or less to the nearer of those two corners. Six other hotels near the route weren't read. The walks are routed on foot for a normal day, so they know nothing about barricades or checkpoints. We didn't read Thursday 26 November, so a second night is yours to check. A booking screen can change the day after we read it.
Last year's route and closures boxed in three hotels
The route, per the City, started at 20th and JFK, ran east on JFK to 16th, north on 16th to the Parkway, then west on the Parkway (inner lanes only) to Eakins Oval, around the Oval and onto Kelly Drive. Visit Philly's page for this year gives the same start but ends the parade at the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps, and we've gone with the City.
JFK to the south, 16th to the east, the Parkway to the north and 20th to the west make a loop. Inside it are The Logan Philadelphia, Curio Collection by Hilton, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center and The Windsor Suites. The Four Seasons is 3 minutes from 20th and JFK and 6 from 16th and the Parkway, The Logan is 7 and 5, and The Windsor Suites is 8 and 3.
The City's release says nothing about cars inside the loop or how people on foot cross the route. On last year's list all four of those sides were closed by 7:30 a.m., the 20th Street side by 6 a.m. The Parkway closure was inner lanes only, and the City doesn't say whether the outer lanes stayed open for a car leaving. Closures were due to lift by 3 p.m. at the latest. Until they did, as we read it, a car at any of the three could be stuck. Ask the desk, before you book, what they tell a guest who has to drive out on Thursday morning.
Valet at The Logan is listed at $72 with in and out privileges, and the FAQ doesn't say whether that's per night. The hotel also names a self-parking garage at 1815 Cherry Street, with no price. The Windsor Suites is valet only: $57 a day with tax included and full in and out privileges. At the Four Seasons we couldn't read an overnight valet rate, so call the hotel.
The four closest outside the loop
South of JFK, Motto by Hilton Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square puts you 5 minutes from 20th and JFK and 10 from 16th and the Parkway. Valet is $55 and self-parking is not available.
Parking at Aloft Philadelphia Downtown is valet only, and Marriott's pages disagree on the price. It's east of 16th, so 16th and the Parkway is the close corner at 4 minutes, and 20th and JFK is 13.
The Westin Philadelphia, also south of JFK, splits it more evenly: 8 minutes to 20th and JFK, 6 to 16th and the Parkway. Valet is $70 a day and no self-parking turned up.
The City had JFK closed from midnight last year, and JFK from 19th to 30th on its no-parking list from 6 p.m. Wednesday. Market was due to close from 19th to 20th at 2 a.m. and on to 22nd at 6 a.m., and Motto is at 31 South 19th, just off that stretch. We don't know what that does to a car leaving on Thursday morning.
North of the Parkway, Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown is at 17th and Race, 4 minutes from 16th and the Parkway and 10 from 20th and JFK. Race from 16th to 17th and 17th from Vine to Race meet at that corner, and both were on the same no-parking list. Ask the desk how drop-off and parking work from 6 p.m. Wednesday, and how a car leaves on Thursday morning. Self-parking is $53 a day and valet $69 a day, per Marriott's FAQ, which doesn't say whether parking tax is included.
Which hotels charge a fee
Four of the 23 carry a hotel fee, per our pages on them, which were read for mid-November nights when we built those pages. Each is 7 to 9 minutes on foot from the nearer corner. The other 19 showed none.
The Notary Hotel, Philadelphia, Autograph Collection has a $30 Destination Fee inside the rate Marriott lists. At The Rittenhouse, the per-night price on the booking screen already includes a $35 Destination Fee, and $5.73 tax goes on top ($40.73 a night). The price Accor lists for Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square, taxes and fees included, has a US$32.58 Urban Experience Fee inside it. Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia adds a $28 Guest Amenity Fee on top of the room, $32.58 with tax. The fee includes a $20 daily food and beverage credit at the hotel. All but The Notary are on our Rittenhouse Square page with the rest of the area.
The Saturday before is marathon weekend
On 31 October, 4 of these 23 showed a room for Saturday 21 November alone and 18 refused. The four were the Westin, the Four Seasons, W Philadelphia and Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. We didn't get a reading for the Palomar that Saturday. That weekend has its own page: Philadelphia Marathon hotels.
Last year's closures as the City announced them
Rehearsals came first: Eakins Oval, from Kelly Drive to MLK Drive, was set to close from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
The City's Wednesday list started at 4 p.m. with the Parkway's inner lanes from 21st to 20th. Temporary No Parking signs were due at 6 p.m., Eakins Oval at 6:30 p.m., inbound JFK from 20th to 30th at 7 p.m. and outbound JFK from 20th to 30th Street Station at 8 p.m. The closures were set to last until the parade ended.
Thursday's list started at 12 a.m. with JFK from 30th to 16th. At 2 a.m. 20th Street from the Parkway to Race was to close until 11 a.m., and Market from 19th to 20th until the parade ended. 20th from JFK to Arch was next at 5 a.m., then at 6 a.m. 20th from Market to the Parkway and Market from 19th to 22nd. Kelly Drive from Sedgley Drive to Eakins Oval was due to close at 7 a.m., and the entire parade route at 7:30.
The City said all event-related closures would lift no later than 3 p.m. Thursday, and that roads would reopen as they were serviced and cleaned. Cars on the no-parking streets from 6 p.m. Wednesday were to be relocated, and the City told owners to call the police district where the car was parked. That list included JFK from 19th to 30th, 20th from Market to the Parkway, Market and Arch from 19th to 22nd, Race from 16th to 17th, 17th from Vine to Race, and Vine from 15th to 17th (eastbound lanes only). The City also said extra closures and parking restrictions could be added near the venue based on conditions.
Logan Circle is 3 to 5 minutes from four of these hotels
Eakins Oval, the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps, 20th and JFK and points along the Parkway such as Logan Circle are the places Visit Philly names to watch. On a normal-day route The Logan is 3 minutes from Logan Circle, the Four Seasons 4, and the Sheraton and The Windsor Suites 5. We didn't measure walks to the Oval. The City's 2025 list of items barred along the route included alcohol and drones.
Visit Philly gives the parade as 8:30 a.m. to noon: a 30-minute pre-show, then about three hours of parade and performances. We found no 2026 step-off time from the organizer, because 6abc's own page wasn't reachable when we tried. The 2025 TV schedule had the pre-show at 8:30 and the parade at 9:00.
Metered street parking is free in Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day, per Visit Philly. The City's No Parking list is separate: last year's is above, and the 2026 list wasn't out on 1 November.
On Thanksgiving Day 2025 SEPTA ran a Sunday schedule. Routes 2, 7, 17, 27, 31, 33, 38, 43, 44, 48, 49, 124, 125 and L1 OWL detoured from 2 a.m. to about 5 p.m. We have nothing for 2026 from SEPTA.
