Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
El Techo, Motto's rooftop taqueria on the 11th floor, sits under a retractable glass roof, and it is the best thing about the hotel. It opened in October 2019 on top of what was then the Pod Philly hotel, per PhillyVoice. Hilton's release says the hotel opened as a Motto in early May 2021, and a search summary of Hilton's listing counts 252 rooms over 11 floors and three restaurants. The square is 7 minutes away on foot by the street route, and the Broad Street Line at City Hall about 10. Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out at noon, and pets are not allowed. Hilton's booking screen for 17 November 2026 carried no hotel fee. Tax is 15.5 percent plus the 0.75 percent PHiL levy. Hilton's hotel-info page says self-parking is not available. Valet is $55. Rooms run compact, which suits a short stay better than a long one.
