Fort Worth's New Year's Eve party is held in Sundance Square Plaza, 420 Main Street. In 2025 it was free, and the fireworks went up from the Westbrook building at midnight. Fox 4 reported that organizers expected 55,000 people. For 2026 we've found only a save-the-date.
We checked 11 hotels in Downtown Fort Worth on 27 October 2026, and 10 sold 31 December as a single night. The Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Worth Downtown, three minutes from the plaza, turned down 31 December alone and sold it with 30 December added. The Ashton Hotel is in range too, but it isn't in that count.
Each check asked for one room for two adults, 31 December to 1 January. We opened each hotel's own booking screen, or at the one IHG hotel, only its search list. At the hotel that refused that night, we tried 30 December to 1 January. The fee and parking figures are the ones on our page for each hotel. Unless we mention tax, the page we got a parking rate from didn't say whether it's extra. Walk times are foot routes on a normal day from each address to the plaza, so they know nothing about crowds or barricades. Closure distances are straight-line meters from each hotel's map point to the nearest street closed in 2025. Availability can change from one day to the next.
Nearest the plaza first
Seven of the booking screens showed no fee: The Sinclair, Autograph Collection, the Courtyard by Marriott Fort Worth Downtown/Blackstone, the AC Hotel Fort Worth Downtown, the Aloft Fort Worth Downtown, Le Meridien Fort Worth Downtown, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel and the Sheraton Fort Worth Downtown Hotel. Reviews of the Aloft mention extra charges anyway, a fee for the in-room microwave among them.
The Sinclair, at 512 Main Street, is a one-minute walk from the plaza (67 meters). Two minutes out are the Courtyard, 601 Main Street, and the AC Hotel, 101 West 5th Street (167 and 169 meters).
The Ashton Hotel, 610 Main Street, is three minutes away (216 meters). We haven't seen its booking screen, so we can't tell you what it had for 31 December.
For 31 December alone, Hilton's screen at the Embassy Suites, 600 Commerce Street, said "Sorry, we don't have any rooms available for those dates." For 30 December to 1 January it said "4 rooms found". We didn't try 31 December to 2 January. If you want the Embassy Suites, search 30 December to 1 January. It's three minutes from the plaza (231 meters), and our page for the hotel lists a 0.53% Texas Recovery Fee included in the rate, taxes extra.
The Aloft, 334 West 3rd Street, is three minutes on foot (240 meters). At The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel, 200 Main Street, Marriott's screen read "Includes 20 USD Destination Fee", so the $20 Destination Fee is already in the rate. That walk is four minutes (282 meters).
IHG's search list showed a rate at Kimpton Harper Hotel, 714 Main Street, for 31 December to 1 January. We stopped at that list, so its fees weren't checked for the night. Our page for the hotel lists a 4.5% Texas Green Energy Fee and a 2% Fort Worth PID Fee on the rate each night, and a $100 per night hold. It's four minutes from the plaza (295 meters).
Hilton Fort Worth, 815 Main Street, had "10 rooms found" on Hilton's screen, which also read "Price includes 0.75% mandatory charge per stay, but excludes taxes and government charges". That charge is the 0.75% Texas Recovery Fee. The hotel is five minutes out (339 meters), and Le Meridien, 811 Commerce Street, is six (416 meters).
Omni's screen listed nine room options at the Omni, 1300 Houston Street, 11 minutes from the plaza (856 meters). The Sheraton, 1701 Commerce Street, is the longest walk here at 16 minutes (1,169 meters).
What the 2025 closures touched
The Star-Telegram, in a story carried by Yahoo on 30 December 2025, listed the closures as Main Street from 2nd to 5th, plus 3rd and 4th Streets, each between Houston and Commerce. They began at about 6 a.m. for setup, and the story said the streets reopen once the crowd clears. Downtown Fort Worth Inc. had listed the same streets for 2024, closed from 8 a.m.
Only the Sinclair sat on a closed block. Its map point is 7 meters from the closed stretch of Main. The Courtyard was 40 meters from it, the AC Hotel 47, the Embassy Suites 64 and the Ashton 68. Every other hotel here was at least 117 meters from a closed block, the Aloft nearest of them, off the 3rd Street closure. The Omni was 538 meters away and the Sheraton 889.
No page we read explains how hotel guests get through the perimeter, or whether a car can reach a hotel door inside it. The only perimeter line we found is from a 2022 Sundance Square release, which said rideshare would "drop off right by the perimeters". Neither the city nor the organizers named a drop-off zone for 2024 or 2025.
If you're bringing a car
The free night-and-weekend downtown garage program ended with the 2025 countdown, per the Fort Worth Report (we saw only a search summary of its 18 November 2025 story). DFWI's headline on 3 January 2026 read "Free garage parking in downtown Fort Worth ends", so any older list of free garages is stale. Downtown meters are free every night after 6 p.m. and on weekends, by DFWI's parking page. Sundance Square's rates page, which we saw only as search-result quotes, lists a $25 flat rate for special events at Garage 3 (345 West 3rd Street) and at a second garage. The quotes we saw don't say whether New Year's Eve counts. None of the pages we read says which garages fill first, and the news guides only tell you to arrive early.
The Sheraton and the Hilton are valet only, at $48 and $69 a day. So is the Embassy Suites, which charges $59 a night. Marriott's pages give only a valet rate for the Courtyard and the Sinclair, $49 and $57 a day, and we found no self-parking rate at Le Meridien, where valet is $59 a day. At the AC Hotel it's $59 a day either way, so parking the car yourself saves nothing. The Aloft charges $14 an hour or $37 a day to self-park, and valet is also $37 a day. Self-parking at the Worthington is $39 a day and valet is $55 a day. IHG's page gives Kimpton Harper as $45 a day to self-park and $55 a day for valet. The hotel's own site lists 24-hour valet at the Main Street entrance, with in-and-out for overnight guests, and gives no price.
We found no on-site self-parking at the Omni. The city garage next door charges $22 a vehicle, with no in-and-out and no word on tax. Omni's directions page lists overnight valet at $48 plus tax with unlimited in-and-out, or $55 plus tax for an oversized vehicle. Daily valet is $32, with no in-and-out.
Getting there and back
Molly the Trolley is gone. It ended on 7 June 2025, and the free downtown Blue Line replaced it. The Blue Line runs daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., every 7 minutes, with stops including Sundance Square, the Convention Center, Central Station and T&P Station. It stops five hours before midnight. Trinity Metro's holiday page has no entry for 31 December, and we found no late service or free rides announced for 2026. In 2024 Trinity Metro ran free rides on all of its services in Tarrant County that night.
The 2025 party ran to 2 a.m., and check-out the next morning is 11 a.m. at most of these hotels. The AC Hotel and the Hilton give you until noon. We don't have a check-out time for the Omni or the Ashton. Kimpton Harper offers late check-out on request, if it has the room.
On New Year's Day, Trinity Metro's holiday page says, buses run a Sunday schedule and TEXRail runs its regular schedule. The TRE doesn't run at all.
How the party has run
In 2025 the party ran from Wednesday 31 December into Thursday 1 January. DFWI's listing and NBC 5 gave the start as 5 p.m. A DFWI recap said 4, though it also got the weekday wrong, and What's Up Fort Worth said 6. We couldn't tell which was right.
The first one was on New Year's Eve 2013. Wind cancelled it in 2017. It was scaled down in 2020 and 2021, and the fireworks came back in 2022.
What 2026 hasn't published
The only 2026 trace we found is a save-the-date on Sundance Square's events calendar. Sundance Square's site wouldn't load for us, so we saw that entry only in search results. It quotes hours of 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and it may be last year's entry left up. As of 27 October we found no 2026 lineup, and nothing on fireworks. DFWI's street-closures page went no further than the Community Tree Lighting on Tuesday 1 December 2026. Neither its New Year's Eve listing nor the City of Fort Worth's closures page had anything for New Year's Eve 2026.
