Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Hilton's booking screen says every rate at the Embassy Suites already includes a mandatory 0.53% Texas Recovery Fee per stay, and taxes come on top. All four room types it listed showed as sold out for Wednesday, November 11, when we checked on October 27. Parking is valet only, $59 a night on Hilton's page, which is $236 for four nights. Reviews say an outside valet company runs it, and one guest says the price nearly doubled. Others found the charge only on the bill, and some report waits of up to 30 minutes. The free cooked breakfast and evening reception are what reviews talk about most, in suites guests call spacious, and Sundance Square Plaza is three minutes from 600 Commerce Street on foot. Pets are allowed for a $75 non-refundable fee, per Hilton's page. The rooms are dated. Heating and cooling are noisy, and the small bathrooms have no ventilation.
