Hotel Vin is the only one here within walking distance of Main Street, and Great Wolf Lodge, 24 minutes away on foot, is the closest to the Gaylord. Of the nine booking screens we read, only the Gaylord's showed a flat nightly fee. The Hilton Garden Inn's rate includes a 0.65% Texas Recovery Fee, and Hilton's other two hotels here carry the same fee, at 0.98% for Embassy Suites and 0.53% for Homewood Suites. Half the ten hotels park you free, and the Gaylord's $29 a day is the most anyone here charges to self-park.

The Carol of Lights opens Grapevine's Christmas season on Main Street on Monday, November 23, 2026. The Parade of Lights follows on a date not yet published; last year's was Thursday, December 4. Main Street closes for both and the events end late. Hotel Vin is walkable to Main Street, and the Gaylord is not.
Grapevine's December belongs to Christmas. The Gaylord's ICE! featuring Harry Potter and Lone Star Christmas runs November 13 to January 3, per the resort's announcement, and the town advertises more than 1,400 Christmas events over 40 days. December is also the month Engine's business-travel data makes the cheapest across Dallas-Fort Worth, about 10% under the yearly average, with June the dearest. Our best guess at a cheap window is the days after January 3, once both wind down. Without a Grapevine rate history, it stays a guess.
Grapevine's hotel tax is 13%, the city's 7% plus the state's 6%, and no tourism assessment or venue tax turned up. The Gaylord's booking screen showed a $28 nightly Resort Fee, included in the rate shown. Hilton's screen for the Garden Inn on November 5 showed a 0.65% mandatory charge per stay, the Texas Recovery Fee, inside a rate that excludes taxes. Its Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites screens on November 11 carried the same fee, at 0.98% and 0.53%. The other five we read had no fee line, and Great Wolf's went unread. Self-parking at the Gaylord is $29 a day on top of its Resort Fee, so three nights with a car come to $171 in fee and parking. Great Wolf's own site puts parking at $25 a night plus tax, so three nights there with a car add $75 before tax. The Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, Garden Inn, SpringHill Suites and Hyatt Place park you free. TEXRail's Grapevine/Main Street stop is 10 minutes from DFW Terminal B for $2 one way.
Probably early January, after the Gaylord's ICE! closes on January 3. Engine's business-travel data makes December the metro's cheapest month, but December is Grapevine's Christmas season, and we have no Grapevine rate history to check the guess against.
Only the Gaylord Texan, of the nine booking screens we read, charges a flat nightly fee: a $28 Resort Fee, included in the rate, on its screen for November 11, 2026. Three Hilton hotels build a percentage into the rate instead, the Texas Recovery Fee, charged per stay with taxes extra: 0.65% at the Hilton Garden Inn (read for November 5), and 0.98% at Embassy Suites and 0.53% at Homewood Suites (both read for November 11). The Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, SpringHill Suites, Hyatt Place and Hotel Vin had no fee line. The Great Wolf Lodge screen went unread.
Five of the ten park you free: the Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, SpringHill Suites and Hyatt Place, by their chains' own pages. Homewood Suites charges $12 a day and Embassy Suites $20, by Hilton's pages. Hotel Vin is $24 a day to self-park and $39 for valet, and the Gaylord $29 and $49, by Marriott's. Great Wolf Lodge is $25 a night plus tax for any vehicle parked over 30 minutes, by its own FAQ.
For most stays, yes. The eight hotels with a routed walk to the Gaylord are 24 to 50 minutes from it on foot. TEXRail runs from Grapevine/Main Street to DFW Terminal B in 10 minutes, $2 one way or $4 for the day.
13%: the city's 7%, in place since October 1, 2014, plus the state's 6%. The city's page gives the 7%, and the 13% total comes from a Community Impact report. No Grapevine tourism assessment or venue tax turned up.
The Gaylord's ICE! runs November 13, 2026 to January 3, 2027, per the resort's announcement. The Carol of Lights is Monday, November 23, 2026. The Parade of Lights date isn't published; last year's was Thursday, December 4, 2025.
