Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Tabard Inn has no elevator, and its rooms have no televisions. The Budget Single is a private room with a shared bathroom, so check the room type before you pay. The inn's rooms page says rates are based on single occupancy and do not include the 15.95% tax. Each room gets a $10 food and beverage credit per night at check-in, good at the restaurant and bar from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. On the inn's booking screen, selecting the Budget Single for November 17 brought up a summary that added the DC hotel tax and no fee line. The rooms page does list a $100 flat cleaning fee for dogs and says printing charges may apply. Overnight parking is $49.99 plus tax, and a garage nearby is $26 plus tax, the lowest parking price any hotel here points to. Cancel before 3 PM two days before arrival or the inn charges one night.
