Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Lyle takes dogs of any size. Some of its rooms have kitchenettes for a longer stay. The booking screen lists a $30 hotel fee a night, with $5 of hotel fee tax on it, separate from the room tax. The hotel's small-print page names the same $30 daily fee plus tax, covering in-room mineral water and Nespresso, Wi-Fi, a gym with a Peloton and a Lyle tote bag. The FAQ and the homepage never mention the fee. Valet is $64 a night, limited and subject to availability that day, with EV charging through the valet. Fee and valet together put $94 a night on top of the room before any tax. Dogs cost $100 once per stay, plus $150 for deep cleaning if the room needs it, and the restaurants are not pet-friendly. The hotel puts a $100 per night hold on your card for incidentals. Leaving early costs one night plus tax on the small-print page and $50 on the FAQ, so ask which one applies when you arrive. Check-in opens at 4 PM, for guests 21 and over with valid ID, and check-out is at noon.
