The Kimpton Banneker hangs work by local artists in its lobby, and the rooms lean bold midcentury. It was Hotel Rouge before it reopened as the Banneker in 2021. IHG's booking screen listed no rooms for November 17, so we read it for November 18. It itemized a Guest Amenities Fee of $30.00 with $4.79 of tax on it: "Banneker Hotel Daily Guest Amenity fee of $30 ($34.79 after tax) will be added per room each night of your stay." The 15.95% room tax is separate. Valet is $65 a day, which puts fee and parking at $99.79 a night. A review from February 2022 found the food and drinks pricey even by DC standards and the room cramped around the desk and closet. The fitness center is small. Nobody under 18 can check in, and the front desk hands over rooms at 4 PM. Pets are welcome, per IHG's hotel page.
