Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Courtyard Washington, DC Dupont Circle occupies the old Kimpton Topaz at 1733 N St NW, which closed in November 2019 and reopened as a 143-room Courtyard in November 2021. Marriott's screen for November 17 showed no hotel fee, with no "Includes ... Fee" line on the rate list. The 15.95% District tax is charged on the rate shown. Marriott's page lists valet at $49 a day and calls it off-site, and $49 is the lowest overnight price any hotel here charges for its own parking. Rooms are small, and there is no shuttle. Up to two pets are allowed per room, and the $100 non-refundable pet fee per stay is the other charge Marriott's page lists. Check-in is at 3 PM and check-out at noon. The walk to Dupont Circle is nine minutes by the street route, 676 meters. Inside are The Bistro, Starbucks coffee, a convenience store and a 24-hour fitness center.
