Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Hotel Zena Washington DC rents out bikes and gaming systems from The Z Shed, and Hedy's Rooftop, seasonal, sits on the 14th floor. The hotel's FAQ puts McPherson Square Metro under 10 minutes away. Every room pays a mandatory guest amenities fee of $35 a night, plus tax, per the hotel's own site. Its amenities page says the fee covers bottled water, Wi-Fi, in-room coffee and tea, a fridge, local calls, the 24-hour gym, the seasonal pool and some tour discounts, and that the list is not complete. The booking screen for November 10, 2026 itemized a Guest Amenities Fee of $35 and a Guest Amenities Fee Tax of $6, so the fee comes to $41 a night. Cooked-to-order breakfast costs extra. Valet is the parking the hotel describes: $59 overnight plus tax, with a 6-foot garage clearance, which puts fee and car at $94 before tax. Bigger vehicles pay $65 plus tax. Pets are $50 each per stay, two at most. Some Expedia and Trip.com web addresses still carry the name The Donovan. You must be 21 to check in.
