The rooftop bar is what draws people to Hotel Washington: it looks out at the White House and the Washington Monument. The rest of the appeal is the walk, a short one to the White House and the Mall. The mood around the roof and the lobby is lively and close to a nightclub, and if you came for quiet, that works against you. Rooms near the top floors can hear rooftop music and foot traffic. Standard rooms are smaller than people expect, and the elevators are tiny. The booking screen for November 17, 2026 itemized a $42 Destination Fee next to the lodging tax, and it did not say whether the fee is taxed. Treat $42 a night as the minimum: three nights is $126 in fees before the room's own 15.95% tax. We have not read a parking price from the hotel, so ask what a car costs before you book.
