Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

The reason to book this Tru is the address. Hilton puts it on Westwood Boulevard at the west entrance to the Orange County Convention Center, so if your show is at that end of the building you can walk over after breakfast. Breakfast is free and hot, a buffet Hilton says comes with more than 35 toppings. Most guests like it, though a few call it limited. The rooms get credit for being clean. Noise is the steady complaint, and some of it comes from inside the room, where the air conditioner units run loud. Light sleepers should pack earplugs, because a quieter floor won't fix a loud AC. Arrive by car with a convention badge and the place makes sense. Hilton lists on-site self-parking at $21 a night for one vehicle per room, with in-and-out privileges and no valet. It doesn't say whether tax is added. Hilton's booking screen showed no resort or destination charge for a 21 to 23 May 2027 stay when we checked on Oct. 21, 2026. A driver should still count on about $21 a night for parking on top of the room.
