Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
This is a big resort doing big-resort things: 1,042 rooms across 19 buildings and a 17-story tower, spread over 28 acres of palms right behind SeaWorld. Two outdoor pools and a kids' pool, a poolside Barefoot Bar, the Laguna restaurant and Alberto's Pizzeria on site, plus a warm cookie at check-in. The location earns its keep: you can walk to SeaWorld and Aquatica, priority park entry comes with your stay, and free scheduled shuttles run to SeaWorld, Universal, and Disney. The Orange County Convention Center sits about three miles up International Drive, and that is also the catch. With more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space and room for 2,000-attendee conferences, the hotel fills with lanyards, so check-in lines, elevators, and the breakfast rush swell when a group is in house. Budget for the extras: a $28.13 nightly resort fee (pool, gym, in-room water, and shuttle) and $38 self-parking per night with in-and-out privileges. Rooms and common areas have been refreshed, though reviews still run mixed on service and wear. Best for theme-park families who want a pool-and-shuttle base by SeaWorld and don't mind sharing the lobby with a convention crowd. Want quiet and boutique? Look elsewhere on I-Drive.

Open in Maps →You're on the quieter south end of International Drive, tucked behind SeaWorld and next to Aquatica in the Dr. Phillips area. The Orange County Convention Center and the I-Drive strip (Pointe Orlando, ICON Park's wheel) are a few minutes north. Disney is about 15 minutes west, Universal about 15 minutes north, and MCO airport roughly 15 minutes east. It's a car-or-shuttle spot: walkable to SeaWorld, less so to everything else.

Is it walkable to SeaWorld and Aquatica?
Yes. The resort backs onto SeaWorld and sits next to Aquatica, so both are a short walk from the lobby. Priority park entry comes with your stay, and a free shuttle also runs if you'd rather ride.
What extra fees should I budget for?
Expect a $28.13 nightly resort fee (covers pool, gym, in-room water, and the shuttle) plus $38 self-parking per night with in-and-out privileges. Both are added on top of the room rate.
Will a convention affect my stay?
It can. The hotel has more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space and hosts groups up to 2,000, so lobbies, elevators, and breakfast get busy when a big one is in house. Call ahead if you want a quieter window.
