The Wheel is a 400-foot observation wheel on International Drive, still the tallest on the US East Coast. You board an enclosed, air-conditioned capsule for one slow rotation, about 18 to 23 minutes, with 360-degree views over the theme-park skyline, the lakes, and on a clear day out toward the Kennedy Space Center. Capsules seat groups and are wheelchair accessible, so it's an easy stop for a mixed-age family. Here's what you're actually buying: one roughly 20-minute ride. ICON Park itself has free admission and free parking, and the surrounding 20-acre complex packs 40-plus restaurants, bars, and shops you can wander before or after at no cost. The near view is I-Drive tourist sprawl: coasters, resort towers, and parking lots, and summer afternoon haze and heat can flatten distant visibility. The ride runs roughly noon to 10pm, so late day or dusk gives you the best light and the coolest capsule. One quirk to know: Merlin rebranded it "Orlando Eye" in 2024, so on-site signage may not match the Klook listing title. Standard tickets cover the rotation; there's also a version with champagne, a combo with the Orlando StarFlyer, and a Merlin pass bundling Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE. Best for first-time visitors, couples chasing a sunset, and families with older kids who want a quick, low-effort I-Drive activity.
