Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Rosen Centre is built for people with a badge on a lanyard. It's connected to the Orange County Convention Center, and a skywalk takes you over the road to the halls. Sound carries here. Guests say they could hear the people in the next room, and one reported a loud noise in the room at 2 am. If you sleep lightly, pick a different hotel. Guests mostly find the rooms spacious and clean, but some bathrooms are showing their age, with reports of a leaking shower control and a bathroom door that wouldn't latch. The large pool is popular. The whirlpool gets crowded. A free shuttle runs to Universal Orlando every day, first come, first served, and you sign up for it at the concierge desk. There is no resort fee, and in-room Wi-Fi is free, so the extra money here goes on the car. Self-parking is $40 plus tax a night and valet is $53 plus tax. A rental car on a four-night conference trip adds $160 before tax, or $212 if you valet.
