Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Rosen Plaza's best feature is a bridge. The Gary Sain Memorial Skybridge runs from the hotel into the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center, so getting to a 7 a.m. registration line is a covered walk with no traffic, not a wait for a shuttle in the rain. If your badge says West Building, that walk alone justifies the booking. The rest is a large convention hotel, 799 rooms by its own count, and it charges no resort fee. In-room Wi-Fi is free too. Guests like the pool and the bar beside it. Service draws mixed reports, with some describing a slow desk, and a few find the beds too firm. Bring a car and you pay for it. Self-parking is $29 a night plus tax and valet is $39 plus tax, so four nights of a trade show with the car self-parked adds $116 before tax, or $156 with valet. Flying in for a show, you can skip the car entirely. The airport is about 15 minutes away by rideshare, and the bridge handles the rest. A theme-park family has less reason to choose it. The free Universal shuttle has to be booked 24 hours ahead at the concierge desk, and the ride back stops at other hotels. Disney is a 10-minute drive, which puts you back in the $29 lot.

Does Rosen Plaza Hotel charge a resort fee?
Not according to the hotel, which states it charges no resort fee, and Wi-Fi in rooms and public areas is free. Its booking screen quotes rates excluding taxes and fees and itemizes nothing before checkout, so read the total before you pay. What you might pay on top of the room is parking, and $50 each for early check-in or late check-out if you want them. A faster Wi-Fi tier is $14.95 a day.
How much is parking at Rosen Plaza?
$29 a night plus tax to self-park, or $39 plus tax for valet. The hotel doesn't publish an in-and-out policy. Oversized vehicles are priced by size and number of days, and EV charging costs $0.35 per kWh through ChargePoint, with a $3-an-hour idle fee once the first hour is up.
Can you walk from Rosen Plaza to the convention center?
Yes. The Gary Sain Memorial Skybridge connects the hotel to the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center, and the hotel describes it as weather-proof and traffic-free.
Does Rosen Plaza have a shuttle to Universal or the airport?
Universal yes, the airport no. The Universal Orlando shuttle is free, but you have to book it at the concierge desk in the main lobby at least 24 hours ahead, and seats go first come, first served. The ride back can run long because it stops at other hotels. The airport is about 15 minutes away, and the hotel suggests rideshare.
What time is check-in at Rosen Plaza?
3 PM, and check-out is 11 AM. Early check-in costs $50 when a room is ready. Late check-out costs $50 until 3 PM, and staying past 3 PM is charged as a full night.
Is Rosen Plaza worth it for a last-minute stay?
For a convention in the West Building, yes. The skybridge saves you the shuttle and the street, and no resort fee lands on top of the rate. For a theme-park trip with a car it makes less sense. Parking is $29 a night plus tax, and Disney is a 10-minute drive away.
