Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Every room here is a suite with a full kitchen, and breakfast is free, so on a week-long convention you can cook dinner instead of paying International Drive prices every night. The hotel is at 8800 Universal Boulevard, under a mile from the Orange County Convention Center, and one guest put the walk at 15 to 20 minutes. The hotel lists no shuttle, so the walk is outdoors in Orlando heat. Some guests walk to nearby restaurants, and the hotel points to a trolley ride for more. The staff get warm words. Cleaning draws the complaints, with reports of dirty rooms and hallways and of bugs, though the clearest example dates from 2020. Reviews from this year mostly call the rooms clean but mention musty hallways and stained bathroom tile. Some older listings still call parking free. Marriott's page shows self-parking at $20 a day or $100 a week. At $20, the weekly rate means seven nights cost $100 to park instead of $140. This is a place for someone driving in for a week of sessions who'd rather cook than eat out. If you want to stroll indoors to the show floor, look elsewhere. Marriott's rate screen for May 21 to 23, 2027 showed no resort or destination fee (checked Oct. 21, 2026).
