Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
This is a kitchen with a bed attached, a few minutes from the Orange County Convention Center. Every suite has a full kitchen, and on a five-night trade show that counts for more than anything else in the building, because you can shop once and stop buying lunch on the show floor. Breakfast is free and grab-and-go. A family that wants a stove and can live with a dated room gets the same deal. The convention center doesn't list this hotel among its connected hotels, so figure on a drive of about five minutes, or the I-Ride Trolley, which stops at the entrance. The building is old and looks it. Guests have reported roaches. The front desk gets kinder words than the rooms do, and if a grimy room would wreck the trip for you, spend more. Bringing a dog costs up to $25 a day per pet plus tax for the first six nights, paid in full at check-in, so two dogs on a four-night stay can add up to $200 plus tax. ESA's own page for this hotel calls parking free in one place and paid in another. Call 1-407-351-1982 before you drive in.
