This is a Port of Miami cruise hotel that happens to have a downtown Brickell address, and that one fact explains most of its reviews. The split tracks who is staying. Guests spending one night before a sailing tend to rate it well; guests here for a regular city trip are where the harshest reviews cluster. The praise repeats around three things: rooms that are genuinely large (one family fit five people, five suitcases and a cot), staff who get thanked by name over and over, and a short walk to Brickell City Centre, Whole Foods and the Metromover. The complaints repeat just as reliably. On cruise turnaround mornings the elevators, the front desk and the breakfast line all jam at once, with reviewers describing a single working elevator and eggs running out mid service. Several say the front desk phone rang unanswered for days. Street, river and light rail noise carries into rooms on those sides. Then the fee math. A Hotel Service Fee of $16.95 per room, per night is billed as its own line beside rate and tax, and valet parking is required with no self park option published. Guests reported $49.95 a day in April 2026 and around $50 a night before that, so two nights with a car adds roughly $134.

100 SE 4th Street in downtown Miami, along the Miami River at the edge of Brickell. Google's listing calls it adjacent to a light rail station, and it is about three minutes on foot to the James L. Knight Center and eight to Brickell City Centre, with a Whole Foods and the Metromover close enough that skipping the mandatory valet is realistic if you are not driving. The flip side of that address is noise: reviewers with rooms facing the street or the river report traffic, party boats and the tram running past the building, and one Priceline guest said the tram ran right beside their room. South Beach is not walkable from here, so sand means a rideshare across a causeway.

Not under that name, but yes in effect. Choice publishes a "Hotel Service Fee" of $16.95 per room, per night, and it shows up as its own line in the price breakdown next to the room rate and the 13% tax. The tax is calculated on the room rate, and no separate tax line appears on the fee itself, though the operator never states outright whether the fee is taxable. It covers the fitness center, pool towel service, discounts with local vendors and discounts at Restaurant Bistro. Over three nights that is $50.85 the headline rate never shows you.

How much is valet parking, and is there a self-park option?

Valet only, and it is required. Choice states plainly that "paid valet parking is required for this property" and lists no self-parking anywhere on the page, but it publishes no dollar amount. Guests fill that gap consistently: a reviewer who stayed in April 2026 was charged $49.95 a day, and 2025 reviewers reported roughly $50 a night. At that rate, three nights with a car is about $150 on top of the room and the service fee. One reviewer waited over an hour with no attendant and parked in a public garage instead; another said the attendant pointed them straight to a garage next door. Confirm the rate at booking, because it is not disclosed up front.

How do I get from the hotel to the Port of Miami?

The hotel runs a one-way shuttle for $12 per person, and you register for it at check-in. That last part matters: several reviewers describe calling the front desk for days about shuttle bookings and never reaching anyone, with the reservations line just transferring them back to the same unanswered phone. Sort the shuttle out at the desk when you arrive rather than trying to arrange it ahead by phone.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 3:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. The 11:00 AM is early for Miami and it lands in the worst possible window here, because it coincides with the cruise crowd clearing out. Reviewers describe elevator waits of 15 minutes or more at peak checkout, with only one car running in the worst accounts. If you have bags and a flight, build in extra time or use the luggage room.

Can I bring my dog?

No. Choice states "Pets Allowed: No" and adds that only service animals are permitted, free of charge. There is no pet fee to negotiate here, so if you are traveling with a dog you need a different property.

Is it worth booking last minute?

Yes for a pre-cruise or post-cruise night, and it is a harder sell for a general Miami trip. The rooms are large by downtown standards, breakfast is free, and you can walk to Brickell City Centre and the Metromover. The catch is that the building runs on cruise rhythms, so the lobby, elevators and breakfast buffet all hit capacity on the same mornings, and reviewers regularly flag inconsistent housekeeping and hallway smells. Add $16.95 a night for the service fee, and roughly $50 a night more if you have a car.
