Check the day before you plan anything else. PAMM closes Tuesday and Wednesday every week, so an open downtown weekday can run you right into a locked door. Get the day right and it's a calm visit: the permanent collection inside, three temporary shows running at once (Basquiat, Cruz-Diez, Vicuña), then a sculpture garden and hanging gardens outside on Biscayne Bay. Verde, the waterfront restaurant, runs 11am to 8pm Thursday and 11am to 4pm Friday through Monday, so lunch fits most open days and dinner really only works on Thursday. It suits contemporary art visitors and anyone building a downtown day, since the museum sits between the Arsht Center and the Kaseya Center. Strollers are allowed throughout the interior, so families work, though PAMM publishes nothing aimed at kids. The catch is what it costs to arrive. Adult admission is $18 and PAMM's own garage is a flat $18, so parking doubles the visit before you're through the door. Members take $7 off and still pay $11, and garage space is limited. Every other lot PAMM points you toward has no published rate at all. Two workarounds: admission is free Thursdays after 5pm, and always free with ID for active military and veterans, healthcare workers, first responders, Florida educators, and disabled visitors plus one caregiver. Bags and luggage go to storage before the galleries, so pack light.

Can I bring a bag into the galleries?
No. Bags and luggage go into storage before you enter, and PAMM doesn't publish whether that storage costs anything. Strollers are the exception and are allowed throughout the interior.
