This is a Brickell financial-district hotel wearing resort clothing. The amenity list runs long for a downtown high-rise: heated pool, spa, gym, four restaurants, a bowling alley and a golf simulator. Guests rate it well overall, and the location draws the strongest praise, largely for how walkable it is to Whole Foods, Bayside Marketplace and the Miami River. Reviewers keep saying the rooms feel bigger and more current than they expected, and that staff are attentive. The catch is the bill. Guests get surprised at checkout because the quoted rate isn't what you actually pay. Parking is valet only, with no self-park option, and Marriott's own page publishes two figures it never reconciles: $76.29 daily in the parking field, and $47-$62 overnight plus tax and city surcharges in a footnote. Reviewers also report a mandatory resort fee of about $30 a night, which Marriott doesn't publish anywhere on its site. Breakfast isn't part of base rates either. Between valet and that fee, plan on roughly $77 to $106 a night above the rate. The other thing to know is that this isn't a beach hotel. It's 5 miles from South Beach with no walkable sand, and the pool and spa are the substitute. If your week is meetings in Brickell, that's a fine trade for 313 rooms with resort-scale amenities downstairs. If you pictured an oceanfront Miami stay, this will land wrong.
