Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The rooms are the reason to book here, and the pool is the reason to read the fine print. W Miami occupies part of the Icon Brickell complex, and guests keep praising the same things: floor-to-ceiling windows over the city and the Miami River, corner suites worth asking for, and front-desk and valet staff who get named in reviews for late checkouts and upgrades. Then comes the part nobody flags at booking. The pool and fitness center aren't the hotel's. They belong to the adjoining Icon Brickell condo towers, you register separately at the front desk, and during the complex's exterior facade restoration that access has often been cut to weekends only. That same restoration brings early-morning construction noise and an unfinished exterior, reported steadily from mid-2025 into mid-2026, and Brickell Avenue traffic adds honking on lower floors. A meaningful share of reviews land at the low end, largely over service recovery: a confirmed suite not honored, a lost-item claim left open for a week. On fees, the operator discloses no resort or destination charge, which is unusual in Miami, but publishes no parking price either. Valet is run by Icon Brickell at hourly rates with in-and-out privileges excluded. Dogs up to 25 pounds run $100 per stay. It genuinely suits business travelers, couples and cruise stopovers who want a stylish room and a walkable Brickell base. If you need a pool every day, book elsewhere.

Does W Miami charge a resort fee?
No resort or destination fee appears anywhere on the operator's page: not in the rate details, the FAQ, or the hotel information panels. Worth one question at check-in, because the operator never states in writing that there isn't one.
How much is parking at W Miami?
The operator doesn't publish a price, for valet or self-parking. Valet is on site but run by Icon Brickell, the building's operator rather than the hotel, at hourly rates with in-and-out privileges excluded. Confusingly, the FAQ on that same operator page says the hotel doesn't offer on-site parking at all, while the parking module right above it says valet is available on site. Self-parking is described only as nearby facilities. Budget for an unknown, and ask the front desk for the overnight number before you hand over the keys.
Can hotel guests use the pool and gym?
Yes, but not automatically. Both belong to the adjoining Icon Brickell condo towers, so you register at the front desk first, and during the facade restoration that access has frequently been limited to weekends. Several guests say nobody told them before booking. If pool time is the point of the trip, confirm the current schedule before you book.
How far is W Miami from the beach?
There isn't one. This is Brickell, Miami's financial district, not the beach. The beachfront W is W South Beach, a separate property, and enough people book the wrong one that it shows up as its own recurring complaint. Guests who caught the mix-up report this hotel wouldn't budge on a refund, even same day, so check the address on your confirmation.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. You need to be 21 to check in, and the property is smoke-free. Reviewers regularly credit individual front-desk agents with granting late checkout when asked.
Is W Miami worth booking last minute?
Yes, if you want a stylish, spacious room with big city and river views and a walkable Brickell base for restaurants and nightlife. It works well as a pre- or post-cruise night. Skip it if you want reliable pool and gym access, a quiet room on a low floor, or a beach resort.
