You meet on the second floor of the Art Deco Welcome Center at 1001 Ocean Drive, get handed a headset, and then you walk. Two hours, about a mile and a half, at whatever pace a group of up to 20 people manages. The headset earns its keep at that size: 20 people strung along a sidewalk is 20 people who can't all crowd one guide, and it means you can hang back and look up. MDPL pitches this at people with no architectural background, just curiosity and comfortable shoes, and that lands about right. If you've just arrived in Miami Beach and the pastel buildings all blur into each other, this is the fastest way to start reading them. Photographers do well here too, because a guide who knows which facades to point at beats a map. Here's the catch. It's a genuine 1.5-mile walk with no seating breaks built into the route, outdoors in South Florida sun. MDPL doesn't publish accessibility information for this tour anywhere on its pages, so there's nothing on mobility accommodations or pace for you to plan around. If covering that distance on foot in the heat is a question mark, ask them before you buy rather than hoping. Bring water and something for your head.
