Loews is the big full-service family resort on South Beach, and the fee stack is the part people forget to price in. A $55 million guestroom and dining renovation wrapped up around Miami Art Week in December 2025, so older complaints about tired rooms don't describe the place anymore. What the renovation didn't touch is the bill. The resort fee runs $50 a night plus tax, overnight valet is $60 a night with tax included, and that puts you $110 down before you've eaten anything. The fee does buy things you would otherwise pay for: four beach chairs a day, kayaks and paddleboards, a welcome drink, an hour of bike rental. Guests still describe feeling nickel-and-dimed once dining and spa charges land on the folio. The catch nobody sees coming is that this is two connected buildings. There's the 17-story main tower, and the 1939 Art Deco St. Moritz beside it, where rooms are smaller and you reach them along outdoor walkways and narrow historic corridors, a good walk from the pool and lobby. Plenty of reviewers report being surprised to land there, so ask which building your rate covers. It suits families best. The supervised kids club (ages 4 to 12) and the zero-entry pool are the actual reason to book, and staff get thanked by name in reviews. Couples wanting a quiet pool day should know it fills with kids by mid-morning, and thin walls between rooms are a steady complaint.
