Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Marriott sells the Marquis, at 901 Massachusetts Ave NW, on the Convention Center. Its $35 Destination Fee comes with a $20 daily food and beverage credit at The Anthem, The Dignitary, the Lobby Bar and Anthem Dining to Go, though not at Starbucks. Spend it every day and it covers $20 of the $35. The fee also pays for enhanced Wi-Fi each day, a $5 daily Uber credit and two Old Town Trolley hop-on hop-off day passes per stay, and Bonvoy Elite members who already get enhanced Wi-Fi get an extra $5 food and beverage credit. Marriott counts the whole $35 into the nightly price it showed for 17 November. Capital One Arena is 13 minutes away on foot, 960 meters. No pets. Guests must be 18 to check in, and checkout is at 11 AM. Valet is $75 a day before tax, with in-and-out privileges, and it takes nothing taller than 6 feet 5 inches.
