Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
Pendry charges a $35 destination fee a night, listed as its own line on the booking screen. The hotel collects it during your stay, separate from the deposit. The hotel's own site lists what it covers, including a welcome beverage, high-speed WiFi, in-room coffee and water, and a morning coffee cart. It comes on top of the room rate, and the 15.95% District tax applies to both. Price is what guests push back on most, and that's before the fee. Pendry sits at 655 Water St SW, six minutes from The Anthem, with a spa and rooftop dining. Valet is $75 a night plus tax, per the hotel's own site, and it's the only parking we found; the site also lists complimentary EV charging stations. Check-in is 4 PM, and if a room is ready early you get it free. Checkout is 11 AM. Dogs are welcome for $150 plus tax per stay, per the hotel's own site. The hotel runs no airport transportation, but the concierge can arrange a car in advance.
