Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Sable lists rooms and suites with lake and skyline views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Reviews describe watching the Navy Pier fireworks from the room and feeling tucked away from the pier crowds. It is 30 minutes on foot from the Water Tower, about 1.4 miles, so Michigan Avenue shopping means a ride or a long walk. Some guests hear their neighbors through the walls. Lírica, the Latin-inspired restaurant, handles in-room dining. The fitness center has Peloton bikes, and the rooftop bar is called Offshore. Guests must be 21 to check in, and the hotel requires a physical ID in 2026, with no digital or mobile IDs accepted. Sable's mandatory charge is $29 a night before tax. Self-parking runs through Navy Pier at $65 a day, with no in and out, and guests call the parking prices ridiculous. Overnight valet is $76 and lets you take the car out and bring it back, so $11 more buys the better deal. Three nights with valet add $315 to the room, $87 of it the charge.
