The pool is the reason to pick the Four Seasons. It is 44 feet long, with a waterfall edge and a 21-by-6-foot whirlpool beside it, and the pool and the spa get the most specific praise in reviews. The 8,000-square-foot spa was renovated in June 2023. The fitness center is open 24 hours, and a Kids Clubroom runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Rooms are spacious, and the higher floors look out on the lake and the skyline. Guests complain about the price and about service that is sometimes uneven. On the booking screen, five rooms each came to 1.189 times the rate once taxes were shown. That is the 18.9% room tax and nothing else. Valet is $89 a night, and self-parking in the 900 North Michigan building is $58. Three nights cost $174 self-parked and $267 with valet, a $93 difference, and the hotel's page doesn't say whether tax goes on top. The hotel has 345 rooms, 185 of them suites, and it opened in March 1989.
