Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Tampa EDITION is Marriott's luxury design brand on Channelside Drive, 172 rooms and 30 suites above a lobby guests remember for its greenery and its staircase. The restaurants in the building earn steady compliments on the food, which isn't a given for a hotel this focused on looks. Rooms run small for the price, and several guests say the stay didn't feel worth what they paid; food and drinks draw the same overpriced complaint. On weekends the lobby bar and the rooftop pool bar fill with a local crowd, with loud music and a packed lobby, so a Tuesday and a Saturday here can feel like different hotels. If you want quiet, book midweek. If you like having a scene downstairs and a short walk to Sparkman Wharf or the arena, the weekend crowd is part of the appeal. The rooftop pool and its bar are closed for maintenance through October 3, 2026, as is the Azure restaurant, and the spa is closed through September 26. The hotel says it has arranged alternative pool access in the meantime, and a guest reported the pool shut for maintenance in July too. Marriott's booking screen shows a $40 destination fee included in the nightly rate. Parking is valet at $58 plus tax a night, and no self-park option is listed on either site.

Check tonight's price →The Tampa EDITION FAQ
Does The Tampa EDITION charge a resort fee?
Yes, a $40 destination fee. Marriott's booking screen shows it included in the nightly rate. It doesn't appear on editionhotels.com or Marriott's page for the hotel, where the only fees shown are valet parking and the pet fee.
How much is parking at The Tampa EDITION?
$58 plus tax per night for overnight valet. Valet is the only option either operator site lists. Daytime valet is $40 plus tax and event-night valet is $60 plus tax, and restaurant guests who spend $60 or more get 50% off (not on event nights).
Is the rooftop pool open?
Not until after October 3, 2026. The rooftop pool, its bar and the Azure restaurant are closed for maintenance until then, and the hotel says it has arranged alternative pool access for guests. The spa is closed through September 26, 2026.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM.
Is The Tampa EDITION pet friendly?
Yes, for one pet per room up to 25 pounds. There's a $250 non-refundable pet fee per stay. Service animals are welcome with no fee or documentation.
Is The Tampa EDITION loud on weekends?
It can be. The lobby bar and rooftop pool bar draw a local crowd on weekends, and guests mention loud music and a crowded lobby. A weeknight stay is the quieter bet.
