Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

Hot water is the complaint that keeps coming back here. Guests describe lukewarm or no hot water for whole stays, and showers that run hot in the morning and fade later in the day. Management said in December 2025 that a contractor was working on the heaters, yet those reviews kept arriving until about May 2026, and some rooms had no heat during the February 2026 cold snap, which management admitted. The hotel is a few minutes from Tampa International Airport, and most guests book it for a night before flying out or for a game at Raymond James Stadium. Rooms get called clean even by people unhappy with the fixtures in them. How the night goes depends on which room you land in and who is on the desk. Recent guests describe dismissive agents and a long wait past check-in time, and when something breaks, they say the fix is slow. Breakfast became a paid buffet in early 2026, with a per-person service charge added on top. Self-parking is $15 a night plus tax for the first car, in a surface lot or the covered garage next door, and each extra car is $25 plus tax. The hotel publishes no resort fee. Check-in puts a sizeable incidental hold on your card that some guests weren't warned about, so bring a credit card rather than a debit card.

Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore - Airport Area FAQ

Does Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore charge a resort fee?

Not that it publishes. The hotel's own amenities page lists only two paid extras, parking and pets, and no resort, destination or amenity fee appears anywhere on it.

How much is parking at Holiday Inn Tampa Westshore?

$15 a night plus tax for the first car. It's self-park only, in a surface lot or the covered garage next to the hotel, with in/out privileges. Each additional car is $25 plus tax, and a vehicle with a trailer is $35 plus tax. There's no valet parking.

Is breakfast included?

Not in a standard rate, according to recent guests. Breakfast became a paid buffet in early 2026, and the restaurant adds a per-person service charge on top, so budget for it or eat elsewhere.

What time is check-in, and how old do I need to be?

Check-in is 3 PM and you must be 21. Check-out is noon. Expect an incidental hold on your card at check-in; some guests found it larger than they expected, so a credit card is safer than a debit card.

Is it a good pick the night before a flight out of Tampa?

Yes, if a short, cheap-to-park stay is what you need. The airport is a few minutes away and guests describe the free shuttle as convenient. If a reliably hot shower matters, know that hot water problems were reported until about May 2026.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs only, up to two, each 50 lb or under. The hotel's own page states the fee two ways, a flat $150 per stay in one place and $150 per pet plus a $150 refundable deposit in another, so confirm the amount with the hotel before you book.
