The Palms sells calm, and by most accounts it delivers. Guests describe the grounds the way people describe a place they plan to return to: soaring palms, hammocks, a pool and cabana area that stays well kept, and direct beach access on the quieter stretch of Collins north of the South Beach crowds. Staff get named individually in review after review, from valet to front desk to spa techs. The AVEDA spa and the kitchen at Essensia are treated as genuinely good rather than as hotel filler. Then there's the math the headline rate hides. The daily hotel fee is $48 a night, tax included. Parking is valet only, with no self-park option, and overnight valet is $50, also tax included. That's $98 a night before you buy anything, and guests report smaller charges stacking on top: bottled water around $7, poolside drinks around $15. The rooms are the weak spot. Reviewers repeatedly call the standard rooms small and in need of updating for what this stretch of Miami Beach charges, and several flag noise, including construction across the street. Ask for a room away from the elevators. Best for couples and spa-minded travelers who want quiet grounds and a good beach. If walking to Ocean Drive is the point of your trip, you want a different part of the island.

Yes, $48 a night with tax included. The hotel calls it a daily hotel fee. It covers wi-fi, in-room streaming, beach and pool loungers, umbrellas, towels, sunscreen, daily wellness classes, the fitness center, unlimited in-room Julius Meinl coffee, and local and U.S. phone calls.

How much is parking at The Palms Hotel & Spa?

$50 a night for overnight valet, tax included. There is no self-parking option at all, so valet is the only way to keep a car here. The day rate is $31, dropping to $21 if you get validated at the restaurant or spa. EV and hybrid drivers take 20% off the valet rate, with charging billed separately at $0.55 per kilowatt.

How far is the beach?

It's right outside. The hotel sits on the sand at 3025 Collins Avenue, and the daily fee covers loungers, umbrellas, towels and sunscreen. Ocean Drive is a different question: plan on a car or an Uber to reach the South Beach strip.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. You need to be at least 21 to check in.

Are pets allowed?

No. The operator says the hotel doesn't accommodate pets. Service animals are permitted with advance notice.

Is The Palms worth it for a last-minute trip?

Yes, if you want quiet garden grounds and a good spa, and you're fine adding $98 a night in daily fee and valet. Guests consistently praise the staff, the palms-and-hammocks setting and the pool. The catch is the rooms: they come up again and again as small and dated for the money, and some guests report noise from the elevators and from construction across the street.
