Our take

By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer

The lobby sells you a 1940 Art Deco landmark by Roy France, reopened in 2018 after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The rooms remind you this is a mid-scale hotel wearing upscale finishes. That gap is the whole story. Guests reliably love the same things: the oceanfront position on quieter Mid-Beach, the adults-only 21+ pool (genuinely calm), the arrival look, and Donna Mare's Italian food, pricey as it is. Then they get upstairs and report tired rooms, weak water pressure, AC that either overchills the bedroom or leaves the bathroom humid, and elevators old enough that guests take the stairs. Ratings for this property vary sharply depending on where you look, and both halves of that split are real: the setting earns real praise, the room condition draws real complaints. The less obvious catch is the bill. Parking is valet only at $49 a night plus tax, and the hotel states outright that free parking isn't available here. One booking channel was still quoting a $45/night resort fee when we checked, while the Marriott direct rate added only Miami Beach's roughly 14% hotel tax. Compare the all-in total before you pick a channel. Budget for an incidental hold of $150 to $450 or more that guests say took 3 to 5 days to release. And if you pay up for an oceanfront or sofa-bed category, confirm it at the desk: several guests report being put in a standard room on full nights.

Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club, Autograph Collection FAQ

Does the Cadillac Hotel charge a resort fee?

Not on its own channels, as far as we could confirm. The hotel took down its destination-fee page, and the Marriott direct rate added only Miami Beach's roughly 14% hotel tax on top of the room. Other booking sites were still quoting a $45/night resort fee on every room type when we checked, so compare the all-in total before you pick where to book.

Is there free parking at the Cadillac Hotel & Beach Club?

No. Valet is the only option at $49 a night plus tax, and the hotel says plainly that free parking isn't available here. Day visitors pay $25 a visit, or $10 with restaurant validation. The garage clears 7 feet and takes no motorcycles or trailers, so plan around that if you're in a tall van.

How far is the hotel from the beach?

You're on it. The Cadillac sits oceanfront at 3925 Collins Avenue with direct beach access and a dedicated kids' beach area, so there's no road to cross.

What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 4:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM per marriott.com. The hotel's own FAQ doesn't publish a standard check-out time, only that you can request a late one.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Up to 2 pets per room, 75 lbs each, for a $100 non-refundable fee per room per stay. Dogs get a Waggo bed, bowl and welcome treat. They aren't allowed in the restaurants, at the pools, or on the beach, and longer stays or damage can add charges.

Is it worth booking last minute?

Yes, if you want a quiet oceanfront stretch and the adults-only pool, and you can live with a worn room. Rooms draw steady complaints for wear, water pressure and slow elevators, and the pool water gets flagged for an oily film. Paying up for an oceanfront or sofa-bed room is the risky part: confirm the category at check-in, because guests report being moved down to a standard room on busy nights.
