Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The Swan is the balanced pick on the Crescent Lake campus: all 756 rooms were renovated by 2025, it's roughly half the Dolphin's size so the lobby stays saner, and it shares every campus advantage, the 3-acre grotto pool, 20-plus restaurants, Friendship boats every 20 to 25 minutes, and the walk of about 12 to 15 minutes to Epcot's International Gateway. The Disney perks are the deluxe-tier set: 30-minute early entry every day, Extended Evening Hours on select nights, the 7-day Lightning Lane window, and free parking at the parks. The costs to weigh: the same $50-plus-tax resort fee as the Dolphin (charged even on points stays) plus $40-plus-tax self-parking, call it $100 a night before room tax, and rates that run a tier above the Dolphin because the rooms are newer. It's still a convention hotel, so a citywide medical meeting can swallow availability and push prices without warning; the flip side is that when a group block releases, genuinely good last-minute rates appear out of nowhere. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom remain a 20-to-25-minute bus ride, with the MK route ending at the Transportation and Ticket Center. It suits couples, adults, and Bonvoy redeemers who want Epcot at their feet and don't need Disney theming in the hallways.

Swan or Dolphin: which should I book?
Swan for newer rooms and a quieter building at a higher rate; Dolphin for the lower rate and a renovation lottery through 2027. Perks, pools, restaurants, and park access are identical because the campus is shared.
Does the Swan charge its resort fee on Marriott points stays?
Yes. The $50-plus-tax nightly fee applies even when the room is paid in points, and parking is separate. Points stays here are still often a strong value against Disney deluxe cash rates; just do the math with the fees included.
How does the Swan get to Magic Kingdom?
By bus, every 20 to 25 minutes, ending at the Transportation and Ticket Center rather than the gate, so add a monorail or ferry transfer. Epcot and Hollywood Studios are the easy wins here, on foot or by Friendship boat.
