With no Midtown series, the citywide December low of $108 is the guide

Citywide, December 2025 ran 50 percent occupied at a $108 average rate, the lowest of the months we read. August 2025 came in at 56 percent and $113, and January 2026 at 54 percent and $115. March 2025 hit 67.7 percent and $133, when the rodeo and CERAWeek overlapped with spring break. Houston First says business travel drives rate growth, especially in the inner loop. We found no Midtown or Montrose series from Houston First, though.

On 28 October, The Whitehall sold Saturday, 16 January, the night before the Chevron Houston Marathon, on its own, with 10 room types listed. Downtown, Hilton Americas-Houston had no rooms for that Saturday as a single night and sold it only inside a two-night stay. The race is Sunday 17 January 2027, with the finish by the George R. Brown Convention Center. RODEOHOUSTON runs 2 to 21 March 2027 at Reliant Park (formerly NRG), and Houston First tied it to about 75 percent occupancy in its Medical Center/NRG submarket in 2024. Kinder's Texas Bowl is Thursday 31 December 2026 at Reliant Stadium. We found no event at Midtown Park itself.

The Whitehall's screen split the 17 percent tax four ways: 6 state, 7 city, 2 county and 2 Sports Authority. The booking engines at La Maison in Midtown, The Marlene Inn and La Colombe d'Or showed us no fee line, so fees there are unconfirmed. If you drive to The Whitehall, valet is the only option, at $59 a night. Saint Augustine's valet is $49 plus tax, with street parking nearby, and the two inns, La Maison and The Marlene Inn, park you free. La Colombe d'Or publishes no parking rate. On foot to Midtown Park it is 9 and 10 minutes from the inns, 20 from The Whitehall, 23 from La Colombe d'Or and 39 from Saint Augustine. METRORail's Red Line stops at Ensemble/HCC in Midtown and runs south to Reliant Park, and a ride is $1.25.
