The nightly fee here starts at $35 plus tax, and of the booking screens we read, only the Hotel Chelsea's on West 23rd Street showed taxes and no fee. If you drive, parking costs more than the fee at every hotel that prices both, and the Hotel Chelsea's $50 garage voucher is the cheapest any of them publishes.

Javits sits in Hudson Yards on the West Side. Of the 17 shows on its calendar from now through November, 14 open midweek and three on a Sunday. Greenbuild runs Tuesday to Friday, October 20 to 23, with Cretech and NAB Show New York overlapping it, and JA New York takes Sunday to Tuesday, October 25 to 27. The Knicks open at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, October 20 and play there again on the 23rd and the 27th. When a Tuesday here costs more than the Saturday, check those two calendars first. Weekends move the toll clock: peak congestion pricing starts at 5 a.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and ends at 9 p.m. either way.
New York Comic Con has Javits from Thursday the 8th to Sunday the 11th. On Saturday the 31st, the last day of the marathon expo, the Village Halloween Parade comes up Sixth Avenue at 7 p.m. into the bottom of Chelsea. The 100th Macy's parade, on Thanksgiving, November 26, finishes at Herald Square on 34th Street. Last year the city shut Sixth Avenue between 23rd and 42nd Streets from 2 a.m. to 3 p.m. for it, and the 2026 notice isn't out yet. Javits has nothing booked Thanksgiving week, Monday the 23rd to Saturday the 28th. December carries twelve of NYC DOT's Gridlock Alert Days, all weekdays, when the city expects its slowest traffic. The NRF retail show fills Javits January 10 to 12. Its calendar lists only four events across July and August 2027.
Of the nine hotels here whose pages we could read, eight add a nightly fee, and Kimpton Hotel Eventi is the only one that quotes it with the tax in, at $49. A car costs more than the fee. The parking rates these hotels publish start at the Hotel Chelsea's $50 garage voucher and run to $100.62 a day for the Moxy's off-site valet, and the $9 congestion toll comes on top at peak, or $2.25 overnight, once a day. The West Side Highway is outside the zone, so the toll starts when you turn off it onto local streets. From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., only buses and trucks may drive through on 14th Street between Third and Ninth Avenues. A cab can still drop you at the curb there, but it has to turn right at the next corner.
Most of them do, under several names. Freehand New York and The Standard, High Line each charge a $35 facility fee plus tax. Arlo NoMad's urban fee is $37 plus tax and Gansevoort Meatpacking's facility fee $40 plus tax, while Kimpton Hotel Eventi's guest amenities fee is $49 a night with the tax included. Virgin Hotels New York and the Moxy show a $35 fee on the booking screen rather than in their FAQs. Ace Hotel charges a nightly destination fee plus tax, but its FAQ and its checkout gave different amounts, so read the rate breakdown. The Hotel Chelsea's booking screen showed taxes and no fee line. Dream Downtown's pages couldn't be read, so we can't say either way.
$50 for 24 hours at the cheapest, which is the Hotel Chelsea's voucher rate at Icon Parking, 51 West 22nd Street, picked up from the front desk. The Standard, High Line sends guests to a self-park garage at $65 plus tax per 24 hours, $10 more for an SUV. Valet is $65 plus tax at Kimpton Hotel Eventi, $75 plus tax at Virgin, $75 through Arlo NoMad's partner GGMC on East 33rd Street, $95 at Gansevoort Meatpacking and $100.62 a day for the Moxy's off-site valet. None of the five hotels that mention in-and-out privileges include them. Freehand has no parking of its own, and Ace quotes its garage discount only by phone or email.
Yes. Every address in Chelsea, Flatiron, NoMad, the Meatpacking District and Hudson Yards is south of 60th Street, inside the Congestion Relief Zone. A car with E-ZPass pays $9 at peak and $2.25 overnight, once a day. Peak runs 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at weekends. The West Side Highway is excluded, so you aren't tolled until you leave it for local streets. Coming in through the Lincoln or Holland Tunnel at peak earns a credit of up to $3. In a cab the charge is 75 cents a trip instead, or $1.50 in an Uber or Lyft.
Rail into Penn Station or the 33rd Street PATH stop, both on the north edge of this area. From JFK, the AirTrain and subway to Penn Station take about 50 minutes for $11.75, AirTrain fee included. The LIRR from Jamaica is quicker, about 30 minutes, at $14 off-peak or $16 peak. From Newark, NJ Transit plus PATH to 33rd Street takes about 40 minutes for $11.75, against 30 minutes and $17.25 on NJ Transit alone. A yellow cab from JFK is a flat $70, plus $4.75 in surcharges ($9.75 from 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays), with any tolls and the tip on top.
If you're staying near Sixth Avenue or 34th Street, yes. The 100th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is Thursday, November 26, 2026 and ends at Herald Square. The city hasn't published its 2026 closures yet. In 2025 it closed Sixth Avenue between 23rd and 42nd Streets from 2 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 34th Street between Fifth and Eighth Avenues from 9 p.m. the night before. Kimpton Hotel Eventi is on Sixth Avenue between 29th and 30th Streets, inside last year's closure, so if this year's matches, arrive there by subway on Thanksgiving morning rather than by car.
The 14th and 34th Street stations, and one on 23rd. MTA station data flags step-free access at every 14th Street station west of Union Square, the L stops at Eighth and Sixth Avenues among them, and at the L and N Q R W platforms at Union Square, though not the 4 5 6. Up north, both 34 St hubs at Penn Station and Herald Square are flagged, and so is the 7 at 34 St-Hudson Yards. On 23rd Street only the 6 train's 23 St-Baruch College stop on the east side is; the C E, F M, 1 and R W stops there aren't, and neither are 18 St or the 28 St stops on the 1 and the R W. The fare is $3, and after 12 taps on the same card in seven days the rest of the week is free.
