Nine of the twelve hotels here add a nightly fee to the room rate, $29.84 at Pod Times Square and $35 to $45 at the other eight, and most of them show the amount only once the booking screen prices a room. Parking runs $50 to $100 a day where a hotel publishes a rate, and the New York Hilton Midtown and the Hilton Times Square are both valet-only at $95.

Monday is the theater district's night off. The Broadway League's schedule for October 7 to 13, 2026 has 6 of its 29 shows playing on Monday the 12th, against 25 to 29 on every other day, and 28 of them play twice on Saturday. The fullest nights aren't always weekends. In the week the UN General Assembly's general debate opened, Times Square hotels ran at 92.2 percent, peaking at 97.3 percent on Tuesday, September 22, and their average daily rate that week was $491.49, more than the district averaged in December 2025. Javits Center shows run midweek as well: New York Comic Con is Thursday to Sunday, October 8 to 11, and Greenbuild Tuesday to Friday, October 20 to 23.
The Times Square Alliance put December 2025 at 91.9 percent occupancy and an average daily rate of $471.86. January 2026 dropped to 75.8 percent and $216.94, and February stayed down at $215.06. This year the Radio City Christmas Spectacular runs November 4 to January 4, and the Macy's parade on Thanksgiving, November 26, is the parade's 100th. The Rockefeller Center tree is lit December 2. The ball drop falls on a Thursday. January's low rates come with two Javits shows attached, NRF's retail show January 10 to 12 and the Westminster dog show January 30 to February 2, so check your dates against them. The next UN general debate opens Tuesday, September 21, 2027.
A car costs you twice here. Every hotel on this page is inside the congestion zone, where a car with E-ZPass pays $9 once a day between 5am and 9pm on weekdays, or 9am to 9pm on weekends, and parking then runs $50 to $100 a day where a hotel publishes a rate. citizenM has no parking at all. Broadway is pedestrian plaza from 41st to 47th Street, so a cab can't pull up to a door on it there. The subway is $3 a ride, and you stop paying once you've spent $35 in a week. You tap a card or phone to ride, since MetroCards stopped selling on January 1, 2026. The nightly fee is the other cost the headline rate hides: $45 at the Marriott Marquis and the InterContinental, where tax on the fee brings it to $51.63, down to $29.84 with tax at Pod Times Square.
Most do. Nine of the twelve on this page add one each night: $45 at the New York Marriott Marquis, $45 plus tax at the InterContinental ($51.63 with the tax), $44 plus tax at YOTEL, and $35 at the Sheraton. The New York Hilton Midtown, the Westin, the W and ROW NYC charge $40, and ROW collects its fee at the hotel on arrival, $45.90 with tax. Pod Times Square's is $29.84 including tax. citizenM's rate list shows no separate fee line. The Hilton Times Square showed no fee on the date we read its booking screen, which is not the same as a published no-fee policy, and we could not read the Hyatt Centric's at all. Pod and ROW NYC print the amount in their FAQs; the rest show it once the booking screen prices a room.
$50 to $100 a day for a standard car, where a hotel publishes a rate. The W's self-park garage, half a mile away, is $50 including tax, and its valet $100 plus tax. The InterContinental sends you to two garages on 44th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues at $55, or $80 for an SUV. ROW NYC's self-park at 790 Eighth Avenue is $70 with valet at $80, the Westin's self-park is $73 plus tax and the Sheraton's $85. YOTEL's garage is $60, and its nightly fee includes a $15 discount there, though neither page says whether the $60 is before or after it. The New York Hilton Midtown and the Hilton Times Square are valet-only at $95, and only the Midtown lets you take the car in and out. citizenM has no parking. The Marriott Marquis and Pod Times Square publish figures that contradict each other, so call those two before you drive in.
January and February. The Times Square Alliance put the district's average daily rate at $216.94 in January 2026 and $215.06 in February, against $471.86 in December 2025. Occupancy was 75.8 percent in January and 78.2 percent in February, after 91.9 percent in December. Two Javits Center shows land inside that window: NRF's retail show January 10 to 12, and the Westminster dog show January 30 to February 2. NYC Broadway Week, the 2-for-1 ticket offer, comes back in winter 2027, though no dates are posted yet.
Yes, on foot, from Sixth or Eighth Avenue. In the NYPD's plan for December 31, 2025, traffic on Seventh Avenue and Broadway was diverted from about 4am, and Sixth and Eighth Avenues closed at 4pm until the crowd dispersed. Every guest is searched, and nobody can cross Broadway or Seventh Avenue once the streets close, so you come in from the avenue on your hotel's side, at the nearest cross street. Hotels are told to post someone at that corner to identify their guests to the officer there, and without one a guest can be delayed or turned away. On the subway, the 42nd Street entrances at Times Sq-42 St closed at about 10am, leaving the 41st Street ones. The 2026 plan is not posted yet; December 31, 2026 is a Thursday.
LaGuardia's: the Q70 LaGuardia Link is free and runs nonstop every 8 to 10 minutes to the subway at Jackson Heights, and the train in costs $3. The AirTrain and the E train from JFK to 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal come to $11.75 in all. Newark's CoachUSA express bus is $23.50 one way, takes about 50 minutes and stops at the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 41st Street, inside this area. A yellow cab from JFK is a $70 flat fare plus surcharges and tip, one of them $5 between 4pm and 8pm on weekdays.
Yes. The Manhattan Cruise Terminal is at the west end of this area, 711 Twelfth Avenue, and cars enter at 55th Street. Ships come in between 7 and 8am, and passengers who parked there are often off the property by 10 to 10:30am. That is hours before check-in, which is 2pm at citizenM and 3pm or 4pm at most hotels here, so ask about holding your bags. Terminal parking is $45 a night with tax included and no SUV upcharge, and the height limit is 8 feet 3 inches. The nearest subway is Columbus Circle, on the A, B, C, D and 1; from there it's a walk down Eighth Avenue and west along 52nd Street.
