Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
YOTEL wants you to be 21 to reserve and check in, and it holds $100 a night on your card at arrival, released after checkout. Hilton's screen for November 18 puts a mandatory $30.18 a night inside the rate it lists and adds taxes and government charges on top, so the number you see is nearer the total than at the Kimpton George, which adds its $37 afterward. YOTEL's own site says its mandatory fee comes with a $10 daily food and beverage credit, plus Wi-Fi and calls. Self-parking in the attached SP+ garage is $50 a night with no in-and-out during the stay and a height limit. There is no valet. Early check-in costs extra. Late checkout is free until 12:30 PM and charged after that, and the rooms have no tea or coffee supplies. Pets are allowed, but the fee depends on which page you read: Hilton's says a non-refundable $75, and YOTEL's own site says $100 plus taxes and fees. The Deck 11 rooftop pool is closed for the season and reopens in May 2027. At 415 New Jersey Ave NW you are 7 minutes on foot from Union Station. Until YOTEL took it over in 2020, this was the Liaison Washington Capitol Hill.
