Our take
By Matt Spaulding, Founder and writer
The NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station is 0.10 mile from the Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC/U.S. Capitol, about a block, by Hilton's listing, and the hotel has an indoor pool. Union Station is farther: 14 minutes on foot from 1225 1st St NE, more than three times the walk from Phoenix Park or the Kimpton George. We found too little review writing on this hotel to say how the rooms are kept. The hotel also has a restaurant, a fitness center, four meeting rooms and a business center open 24 hours, and Hilton's site lists an included-breakfast offer. No mandatory charge appeared on Hilton's November 17 screen. If you drive, there is no self-parking, and valet is $55 a night plus tax, the lowest valet figure among the Hilton hotels here. Check-in is 4 PM and checkout noon. Pets are allowed for a non-refundable $75, the figure Hilton's pages also give for the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill and YOTEL.
